I love watching people react to dir en grey for the first time. Dir en grey has been active since 1997. Kyo (the singer) took the name from Kyoto. He has been writing the lyrics even since the band formed. He was on his early 20s at the time, now he is around his mid 40s. Kyo has a very imposing presence even when he is just 5 feet tall or 5'3" with shoes. He is a very petite guy. Kyo even when he admits that did not finished school, he is an extremely talented guy, extremely hardworking and hype; at the moment he has another band by the name Sukekyo, which he started in 2016, he is the singer on that band. Just recently he started a collaboration with members of other bands to create a new band and obviously he is the singer for it too. Kyo has done collaborations with other bands, one would be Apocaliptica. He is very involve on his clothing and jewelry line. He usually models the items. He also is very involved with photography. Kyo often posts on tweeter and instagram.
I’m honestly surprised you paid attention the background visuals on your first watch! I’ve noticed a fair amount of people who react to this song/performance for the first time end up missing some visual cues due to it, which have a flow with the song.
So extremely talented that was incredible ..amazes me when.someone can do that ..amazing thanku so much ..my reaction was like yours ..wow thanku so much love and God bless always x 9390 x
Hatter, yes he has a great vocal range. Great stage presence, very talented and has a lot of devoted fans. I see from the comments he does a range of different genres. This song is not for me, I do love his talent. Got to say the audience reaction was amazing. 9390 #MadLove
Ahahahah, yeah, this song has a Lot of weight to it, if you're not familiar with them it's hard to quite know how to respond 1) The band's style has varied Massively over the years, and they are often skilled at combining genres within a song - pick a preferred genre within the rock/metal subgenres and there's a good chance fans can find you a song within that from their discography 2) last I've seen, Kyo's even attributed a 6-ish octave range with whistle screams arguably in the 7th. I think the real question is - just what did he sell his soul to for that? Lol this song works as a great showcase for his range, but you'll hear all these variations and then some throughout their discography 3) Man, they're just Good, lol. This song should be a chaotic, disjointed mess but somehow they pull this shit off
@@Elis_Nordgall I was thinking he reached up into the sixth with sung notes with one or two Sukekiyo songs, but I could be wrong! I'll have to check again :)
Para mí está canción transmite el dolor, la ira, la desesperación, a incertidumbre de haber recibido el ataque con armas nucleares en manos de los norteamericanos

I agree with all of your statements! This was insanity
Doesn’t he have a 4-5ish octave vocal range with falsetto and whistles going up in to 6-7?

Dir en grey - Decayed crow plz
The live symphonic version of Decayed Crow is one of the most terrifyingly powerful vocal performances ever conceived.
