Scale models companies arenť stupid, but there is some compromise to be made when making moulds considering materials/technology/price. But we are getting there :)

There is a difference between model art and reality. Never believed in showing panel lines but the weather the plane as it would look as it being used a lot.fuel stains,oil leaks ect..but panel lines are very hard to see and if you do see them like on a model then I would not fly a aircraft like that.keep up the good work my friend....

Yes. I am not into the dark panel line washes and overemphasis of surface detail on scale models. Preshading, chipping, etc, are much more realistic but take much more time.

Trying to replicate the texture of the actual aircraft on the model is difficult and will require a combination of plastic texturing and painting skills, in my opinion. If you can use paint and shading to hint at the irregular surfaces of the aircraft’s aluminium skin - the way an oil painter would on canvas - then I believe you will be successful. Or possibly the use of aluminium foil on a 1/32 or 1/24 scale model, and then distressing areas of it with a round-tipped wooden tool? I find your thoughts on this topic fascinating and I marvel at your modelling / painting work. 😊👍🏻
