As far as best 1-drops go, in addition to Kobold Librarian there's also Undertaker, Mana Wyrm, and Northshire Cleric that stand out imo. Although none of those three are as standalone "this, by itself, no matter what else is in the rest of your deck, is super good" powerful.
For me, Kobold is standalone powerful. The others I agree that need some support, but Kobold is a cycle with a body. Cleric almost makes this cut too. Also, other standalone great card is Flame Imp (imo better than nowadays Wyrm). Ah, other 1 drop that I find better than Wyrm is Patches.
7:53 When I first saw Kobold Librarian I thought that it would be one of the worst cards of the set xD But yeah totally agree with you, it‘s one of if not the strongest one drop and definitely my favourite :D
Love the vids Roffle. I love always having a new video to watch. I’d love to see a Shaman quest line Shudderwock deck and then just like cast lightning bolt to OTK them.
Hey Roffle, big thanks to your videos recently, they were the good things left in this pandemic Anyway, as a fellow priest enthusiastic, can you make a video about Renopriest with the questline just to see how efficient it would be against aggro deck Thank you for your content Mr.Roffle
As a long time paladin main I’m actually slightly convinced this is better then odd paladin I think they do slightly different things, odd paladin is certainly more proactive early on, after all with the coin you could have 5 2/2s on turn 2, but 2 mana for 2 3/3 divine shields is an excellent counter to other board based strategies in the late game I think it needs some experimenting
You could make this odd by just removing Prince Keleseth and the Balloon merchants, I think Cariel might be worth it, even if you don't get the second reward.
@@senboy9002 There is no point in making it odd. The second reward gives you nothing and you're down a card from the start for no real advantage until the quest is completed. That's 9 1-drops you have to play to get something out of the quest.
I wholeheartedly agree that Kobold Librarian is criminally underrated. Warlock has BY FAR the best hero power in the game, drawing cards is just SO powerful for refill. It costs 2 mana... Kobold Librarian gives you Warlock Hero Power for HALF the Mana, AND a 2/1 body. You're basically playing a 1 mana 2/1 and getting the Warlock hero power for free. It's straight better than Tour Guide in that respect. So not only do you get a 2/1 that can kill some 2 drops, you get another card to increase your chance to play tempo. I agree with the commenter that Flame Imp is good, especially now; but these days a 1 mana 2/2 with zero downside is neutral. You take 3 damage to get one extra attack, and how often is that going to be a net gain for you? Meanwhile, there is almost no situation where drawing a card puts you at a disadvantage, that 2/1 alone going face automatically counteracts the self damage, and if you clear a 2 drop that's insane value. The reason it's good right now is because taking that 3 damage isn't as much a downside, it's quest progression. But Kobold Librarian ALSO contributes to your quest, AND can draw you into a card like Flame Imp so you get both. Hearthstone is a game about tempo, so getting that 2/1 and a card on turn one might draw you a 2-3 drop to stay on curve, and clear your opponent's first threat to help maintain the board. Just because it's an old card doesn't make it bad. There was a reason that Kobold Librarian on 1, and the 2/4 Taunt on 2 was amazing tempo. Attacking with both to face or even better on minions, meant you either had equal health OR were ahead on board.
@@roguebanshee Balloon Merchant gives +1 attack AND Divine Shield every single time you play it. Stegodon gives, at best, +3 attack, Divine Shield, Windfury OR +1/+1, and at worst it offers Stealth/plants/untargetable.
From what I figure, it's a free card. Instead of having to add a mediocre card and dilute your deck, you're already one card closer to drawing your good cards. Good for aggro as an additional body
Thank you for demonstrating that you commented before you even watched the video. If you actually watched it, you'd notice he removed it in the final build.
3:09 I feel like you might not have Hero Powered here - there was no immediate need, but keeping the 0 cost for turn 5 after you play Cariel gives instantly better Dudes. EDIT: Never mind, I have never seen Cariel been played so far and did not know she also affects the board. I thought of her text as something along "summon Dudes with +2/+2".
Ever think about adding Prince Liam to the deck for extra meme-ness for all those 1 drops after your quest completion?
You need to add prince Liam to this deck for the memes
We have better alternative is Ledy Prestor
"Can't draw baku if you don't play baku"

Mana Wyrm is 2 mana but I can see your point.
@@azen1124 Well, it was for a while. It was originally a 1 mana 1/3, then it was a 2 mana 1/3, now it's a 1 mana 1/2.
1/3 trog and his elemental version for shaman are op too. :)
Yeah, if we're talking in the history of Hearthstone, I think pre-nerf Undertaker takes the cake

At 28:20 , roffle takes 1 damage for miscalculating the turn. At 31:30 he takes exact lethal. Count your damage kids

That game against warlock was do close! Never seen a player passing the turn with both players at 1!

Great video!
I can't believe Keleseth didn't even make an appearance!

would baku and this quest work together?
Would u be able to build a deck with all 3 quests?
ಠ_ಠ
You can indeed enter your Collection and add all 3 quests to the same deck.
is that odd paladin without baku?
Is this version better than odd paladin
Any deck with the druid legendary Sheldras?
Lose your rank fast druid
What is the main reason for not using Lightfused Stegodon?
Its costs 4 mana, requires a board of a specific minion types, and you really only want the +3 attack to kill the opponent
Its Just a worse quartermaster, +2+2 is better then +3 Attack which is the best Output 90% of the time
You dont want to get into Dude synergy that bad and instead Just Rush to finisht the Quest to win with 2 3/3s per turn
@@pachiroth7848 Which is different from Balloon Merchant, how?

Baku took notes from Onyxia as so disguised as Cariel... this is HS canon XD
By god that was a lot of taunts. XD
I guess 1 mana fireball is pretty good uh? (talking about conviction lv 2)
How Baku interact with the second reward of the quest ? Do you get 3 dudes or stay at 2 ?
They both upgrade your hero power (as well as Justicar Trueheart), hero power can only be upgraded once, so your still get only 2 dudes
Stay at 2. Upgrade hero power doesn't upgrade twice
I'm suprised I haven't seen a deck yet with the rhino and broom.
Not worth running the rhino
Good afternoon Roffle, hope you have a good day
Don't forget to replace Conviction, otherwise Keleseth does not work xD
That last game was painful to watch
I use the quest paladín for me Ultimate Silver army.
But i think using secrets is better in that deck to win time and stop the Oponent
Lol librarian wuold be the best 1 drop for a long long time
What will happen if you upgrade your hero power twice
Nothing
We’ll eventually get a card that gives all dudes Taunt. Then we can finally destroy Hearthstone with dudes!
Why is Patches broken? I never understood…

@@liftheadleyweight It's pretty much this. A lot of decks would run fewer cards if they could, and Patches helps you do that.
Why meeting stone when it doesnt add 1 drops to your hand?
I dont know

You seem like a nice guy its sad that your thumbnails are weird like they are
That's also the funny thing, the thumbnails don't need to be promising when you know the content creator won't disappoint you
