My dad (owner) bought this car in '72. We worked two decades restoring it. No bondo, fender where needed lead filler used. Sad to see it go after dad's passing. He also had the Patrician and Carribeam. Good memories
The new owner got a good buy!!! You guys did an exceptional job!!! What are some of your favorite memories with this 400?? Any unusual discoveries while restoring?? Thanks for sharing your memories, Randy.
I have a 1956 packard executive 4 door for sale right now. Its only got 41000 miles on it. Was stored for 53 years in a shop. Needs restored but its an easy one. Runs and drives. No body rust or frame rust anywhere. No dents. Its a true survivor. There were only 1748 made in a 4 month run in 1956. I have it for sale for 10 grand. Wont take a penny less.

Because of the range, " near luxury " to luxury, maybe a better comparison would be an American Mercedes Benz. Pierce Arrow, McFarland, and, of course, Duesenberg would compare to Rolls Royce. Thanks for watching and commenting, Daniel!!
Just to rub it in, Les, so many of these cars were down right cheap through the 90's!!!!! You will just have to plan a trip to the States, Les!! Please check out my other videos, too.
@@carshowreporter I will have to...just love to go cruising down to Melbourne from Sydney in a 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Victoria with a Beach Boys CD ....I would even settle for a 56 Mercury Montclair !! Thanks for the video Pamela. Les Griffiths
@@carshowreporter Such attractive cars. Packard had the product, and the new 57 models would have scooped the luxury car industry similar to what Chrysler did with it's revolutionary 57 cars. The "problem" was the sheeple public who shunned "independents", and the cash draining merger with Studebaker, which was able to continue because it was a big producer, and the more comfortable position the Packard buyout of it left it in.
I remember riding in it with my late father and grandfather my dad said it was the best riding car he ever had since it didnt have springs just torsion bars he once got a ticket for running from the cops they could not catch him he had to slow down and lost his license for 3 months

When shopping for my first car ,a 1954 Ford 2 door, I distinctly remember a Packard like that one on the Ford/Mercury dealer lot. Just beautiful. I was so impressed with the aircraft style dash instruments back then. 1959. If I was shopping for it now, 29K seems right.
@@carshowreporter Haha. Well, I was part time working for cheap money than, and the Ford needed some work. A back lot car. Me and my Dad paid 900 bucks for it. I learned a heck of a lot working on that car.😁👍. I don't remember the Packard price.
