Yes, I need a hydrating lipstick. I can't abide something that dries my lips out. I'll definitely check back with a video on all of these. I'm working on a series of videos on luxury lipsticks. These will show up in that series.
I think I need to get the Tom Ford Indian Rose....gorgeous color! I have Telluride and use a but of gloss over it or a lip conditioner under...it is a bit stiff like you said. I have Estee Lauder in Bois de Rose and Rebellious Rose. Love a good high-end lipstick!
I love these luxurious lipsticks. The Tom Ford is amazing. I feel like the formula is much creamier than when I first tried it over a decade ago. I know this color as well as Spanish Pink have been favorites. I'm so glad I picked this one up. I like the BB in Telluride, but need to see how it performs as I wear it all day.

Indian Rose is beautiful, but there are some good alternatives that don't cost $59. If it's in your price range, it's stunning. I love it!
I buy only drugstore lipsticks, with the exception of Lisa Eldridge. The excellent quality of LE Makeup is worth it to me. Thank you for your fun and helpful videos.
I LOVE Lisa's lipsticks. They're the lipstick I hold every other one up to for comparison.
I'll admit I'm not well versed in drugstore lipsticks, but that might be my next series. 🤷♀️
I am a luxury lip stick Gal. I do love and repurchase TF. Indian Rose. It is my it will work with almost any makeup I have on color. I haven't bought a drug store lipstick in several years. I take that back! I really like the NYX lip butter formula. It is in my collection, and I have repurchased the colors I love. I can't wait to hear your reviews. Have a wonderful week. I just got a sample of Tom Ford Casablanca and I’m hooked. Loooooong eyed Indian Rose. The full sizes are on my wishlist.

I really like the feel of the TF satin lipstick. It's lovely. I may want to pick up another shade. It's been a long time since I've picked up a NYX Butter Gloss. I like the formula, but I'm not much of a drugstore person. I try it for my channel, but I really love high end and luxury stuff the most.
I need to try more shades from the TF line up. Maybe even a matte. I'll have to look for reviews and swatches from several sources. $59 is a lot to spend on a lipstick if it's not the perfect shade.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipsticks are some of my fave! I didn't think I'd love the lipsticks so much but they give an instant blotted look because they're stiff

I've gone through two Chanel Mademoiselle lipsticks. I am now obsessed with the Rouge Coco in the shade Marie, but you are making me realize I need to order another Mademoiselle because it looks so beautiful on you.
I recently tried Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet formula, and now realize that I'm not a huge fan of more matte formulas in any lip products, especially after having a negative experience with the CD Rouge Dior Forever -- gorgeous colors, but uneven wear. Such a shame.
I swear by Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color (regular, not the matte formula), and the brand's Crushed Lip color.
This is my first BB Crushed Lip Color. So far, so good. I'm instantly in love with Mademoiselle! Such a stunning color and a perfect formula. I want to try the Rouge Coco Bloom too. I like the Chanel Velvet formula, but I'm usually going to defer to a sating/creme lipstick. I want the comfort and slip that those types of formulas provide.
The Dior Forever Transferproof formula was such a fail for me. I have one, and I'm so disappointed that I spend $45 on it. : ( Thanks so much for watching today!

I've been in love with the Armani Lip Power line for a while, they're everything I look for in a lipstick.
Yes, the Lip Powers are amazing! I'm so glad I picked up shade 400. It's a stunning Red. I have shade 109, it's a pink leaning nude, and is lovely. I wish there were more shades in the line up, but maybe they'll expand the range soon. Thanks for watching today.
I got a mini sample of Tom Ford Indian Rose years ago and LOVED it. I need to find a dupe, I can't bring myself to pay for the full size.

You are really influencing me to get that Bobbi Brown lipstick in Telluride. I don't need another lipstick, but that color is right up my street. I also loved Tom Ford Indian Rose on you, so pretty!
I'm curious to see how Telluride wears. I really like the color, but I've never tried this Crushed Lip Color formula before. I'll report back in the future. I'm actually planning a review/series on Luxury Lipsticks. Keep and eye out for that if you want to hear more about the luxury lippies in my collection.
Cannage is my go-to, everyday lipstick. IT definitely lasts longer when I use a lip liner with it, but it’s so easy to reapply, even without a mirror.
I really like Cannage. It really impressed me with the shade and the texture. I can't wait to wear it with a lip liner. Thanks so much for watching today!

I LOVE Spain. I spent 2 years there during my childhood. When I was younger, my family would go back to visit friends often. My Spanish isn't very good anymore, but I understand a lot. Both my parents are bilingual. (my mom is Mexican, my dad is American) I wish they kept speaking Spanish to my brother and me after we got back. I did spend a year in Valencia during college, but I spent less time studying and more time partying. 🤦♀️🤣

Such a fun video! I have been wearing mostly MAC lipsticks because I find them to be good quality, a huge shade range and not that expensive. I also have a number of Lisa Eldridge lippies that I love too. I have been looking at the YSL Candy Glaze lipsticks but worry that is mostly like a gloss in a lipstick form. Thanks for the overview of all the high-end brands!
Yes, the Candy Glaze are a gloss in stick form. I've been holding off on getting a bold color, but I'm obsessed with the nudes and the clear ones I have. I LOVE Lisa's lipstick formulas. All 3 of the bullet formulas are the measuring stick I hold every other formula to. It's been years since I've purchased a MAC lipstick. I've just never fallen in love with the line, even after having over 20 of the lipsticks in various formulas. They just don't catch my attention.

I love luxury lipsticks, the last one I tried is the Hermes shiny lipstick in prunoir absolutly stuning ❤
I was thinking about picking up the Hermes Prunoir. I didn't want to because it's limited edition. Once it's gone, I won't want to use it on my channel anymore. I try and stick to products that are regularly available. Especially at the Hermes price point! I'm sure it's stunning. I might have to pick up a Hermes lipstick eventually. the $70+ price point is intimidating.
Loved watching you trying these beautiful lipsticks! I recently got the Bobbi Brown Luxe in their regular formula and they are beautiful, creamy and comfortable on the lips , I have it in Bahama Brown ( Brownie mauve) and Parisian Red ( a beautiful neutral red) first time trying this brand and I like it a lot.

Ooooh, I love bougie lipsticks! I'm pretty sure you made me buy quite a lot of them. For Christmas I got Valentino's Roman Grace (nude). Love the feel, but it pronounces chapped lips so I think I will wear it more when we move towards spring. Thank you for the show & tell!
Thanks for watching today. Should I feel bad about influencing you to purchase expensive lipsticks? I hope they've all been good purchases. I'm forever reaching for a lip balm during the winter, so my lips stay very hydrated. I don't seem to have problems with the Valentino clinging to my lips in strange ways. Fingers crossed it's better for you come spring. It's a lovely shade.
Tom Ford Indian Rose is my favorite, I have 2 mini’s that I’ve had for quite awhile and they have not gone bad, love the red I have called Tony, haha I only bought it cause it’s hubby’s name. Very pretty lipsticks you bought and was happy for me they were not all red ones, I know that’s your favorite and you look so pretty in them.💄💄
I told myself I couldn't purchase only reds, I needed to purchase other shades too. I love the warmer browns and rosy mauves I picked up. There are only a few that I'm not 100% sure about. I'm grateful that my neutral complexion allows me to wear most shades. I might need to pick up a few more Tom Ford lipsticks. What a great formula.

I meant to tell you that my all time favourites are the Cle de Peau lipsticks - the formulations are moisturizing, never dry out my lips or bleed. Cle de Peau has a couple of nude shades that are my best everyday lipsticks.
I'm curious to see what your testing and quality review video will reveal about these high end products. 🙂

This is fun. I went through a luxury lipstick phase and I am suggesting that you try Ellis Faas Milky Lipstick in Plum or Ellis Red. Givenchy has some nice ones too.
I haven't tried anything from Ellis Faas. I did pick up some Givenchy lipsticks. I have the Sheer Velvet, the regular Matte Velvet and one of the silk ones. I love the YSL The Bold formula! I have 3 of them. 01, 10, and 1968 Nude Statement (I forget the number) They're such amazing lipsticks, and the formula is one of my favorites. I like a lot of Dior lipsticks, especially the refillable ones.

I looked crazy when I played in it, and I got in trouble, but I was instantly in love! I'll report back and let you know how these lipsticks wear.
I have a lot of lip products. Mainly drugstore, but a lot from Sephora & indie brands as well. I'm trying to finish some bullets this year and rank what I have to make a small list of HG products to repurchase. Since I have a decent stash, I'm really nitpicky. @@thelipstickgal From those I liked Propa Beauty lipsticks the most. They glide on, have good color payoff, and look smooth and hydrated (they call it luminous satin). The only con for me is the limited color selection.

My perfect red lipstick is HOS venomous ❤ Even though my hubby doesn’t like red lipstick in general, I feel great in it when I have classic look with neutral natural eye
I don't have HOS Venomous. I have Queen and Royal Highness. I also have Femme, but it's a nude shade. My hubby has gotten used to red lipstick even though I try not to kiss him when I'm wearing it. He gets lots of air kisses and is finally used to it after being together for 26.5 years.

Indian Rose is my all-time favorite. I love the color. I love how comfortable it is. There is no scent. I am glad you got it! I need to try Chanel lipstick. I haven't and I am going to. I love a good lip mask. I may try it. I think the component is well thought out.❌️⭕️
I have 3 different formulas from Chanel, and my favorite is the Rouge Allure L'Extrait. It's so comfortable and moisturizing. I'll keep trying the Rouge Coco, and the Velvet formulas, but the $55 is just such an experience on the lips.

Hi, loved watching you try these on! Thank you! Like you, lipstick is my favourite make up item ever! I have been after the Guerlain lipstick with the mirror for ages! My all time favourite luxury lipstick formula is the Victoria Beckham. I think you would love the Carolina Herrera lipsticks if you haven’t already tried them? She does comfortable mattes and satins and her signature is different shades of reds - I find her reds beautifully nuanced. The packaging is out of this world pretty!
I saw some of the Carolina Herrera lipsticks online, and I'm so curious. I might have to pick one up. I have so many reds, I decided to pass when I was placing an order from Macys, but I might have to go back and see. I love beautiful packaging so much. They looked lovely.
I really like the Posh Lipstick from VB. I only have one shade, but keep meaning to purchase another one. The one shade I want is always out of stock when I place an order. (boo!) That's ok, I'll get my hands on it eventually. I'm working on a luxury lipstick series. There were ones that I picked up to try because I didn't have the brand in my collection, or it had been years since I tried the formula. Formulas change all the time, and I'm wanting to see what these lipsticks are like now. I fell hard for the TF lipstick in Indian Rose. It really surprised me. I don't remember being that impressed with the satin lipsticks the last time I tried them over a decade ago.

On the Guerlain, you have to get out some magnifying glasses to see it, but the number shade should be etched at the rim of the bullet.

Ooooo! I would looove to buy 18 luxury lipsticks! I love these reviews! That Armani red on you!-the best! I really like the Guerlain and the Shiseido on you and I might want those now, as well. I like the TF on you. I'm into the Armani Lip Power Satin, too, but I need new shades that are cool-toned (please make more cool-toned ones, Armani!). I'm also in Gucci and Dior lipsticks. I finally got a Chantecaille lipstick and I really like it. I actually don't like the smell of YSL glossy/satin lip products. Oh, and Gucci has the prettiest components.
I have 4 of the 5 Gucci formulas, most of the YSL and Dior formulas and I'm starting to get very curious about Armani lipsticks. I love the shade 400! I like the Shiseido color and mouth feel right after application. It dries down a little bit, so I'm not sure it's my favorite formula out of all the ones I've tried. I do like both of the Guerlain shades I picked up.
BTW, I've been purchasing these lipsticks and squirreling them away since October. It's taken so much discipline to keep out of them. Obviously I couldn't keep myself from trying the Chanel and YSL shades, but the rest were safely out of sight. There's no way I could afford to purchase 18 lipsticks all at once, even with a monthly beauty budget.

I'm a makeup snob for indy brands like Runway Rogue (the glosses and their nice creamy mattes but not liquid ones). I don't do liquid lipsticks or lip oils.

Lipstick is my Achilles heel. I can't stay away from lipstick or beautiful packaging. I'm happy to try these so others don't have to. I really love having a wide range of formulas and shades to use here on my channel. Thankfully I have a budget for these types of expenditures.

Don't feel like you need to purchase products because you see them on TH-cam. I have a beauty budget to make these types of purchases, and I've been slowly amassing this "haul" since October. I didn't go out and purchase these all at once. I saved them over several months so I could do this video. I'm also planning a series of videos on Luxury Lipsticks. I want to describe them in a way that helps people decide what will work for them, and what won't.

I love the Armani lip power in the cream formula. The NARS it's a wonderful color, but too drying on my lips. I gave that one to my oldest. She likes it.

@@lindabarnhill1522 I'm so glad you've been enjoying my recommendations. I used to be able to stay more long lasting lip formulas, but most of them dry my lips out now. I had to pair that NARS powermatte lipstick with so much lip balm. My lips can't take that type of formula anymore. 😥

The older I get, the less my lips like a traditional matte formula. Or a longwearing matte formula. They tend to make my lips look dry and shriveled. I NEED hydration in my lipsticks, especially in my matte formulas. If I get curious enough, I'll pick one up.
How fun to watch this video because I love luxury lipsticks. Honestly I love it for the packaging and the experience. I don’t necessarily feel like the formulas are super ground breaking with the exception of the formulas in Chanel. Byredo and Hermes packaging is the best. My problem with the Tom Ford is they start to smell bad fast so I only buy Tom Ford at my local cosmetics outlet.
I'll have to keep an eye out for the TF starting to smell. Thanks for letting me know. I haven't tried any Hermes or Byredo yet. I've been super impressed with the 3 different formulas I have from Chanel. They're each lovely and comfortable.

Oh, I was bad! I've been slowly collecting these since early fall. It was so hard to keep them in a pile off to the side. There were two that I wasn't able to hold off on trying. (I felt bad about that, but I had to know!)
I adore all those red shades, and I am actually really preferring high-end lipsticks these days myself. I just think they treat my lips better. I like the formulas because they are luxe and I’m not embarrassed to say it lol.
I love a luxe lipstick so much. It's the experience for me that makes it. Packaging, the feel on the lips, and the nuanced shades are what I'm looking for. I feel like luxury brands are better at delivering on those parts of a lipstick.

I love my PM Satin lipsticks in Nude Venus and In The Flesh it’s a soft mauvy red it does not look like online at all lol
I haven't been intrigued enough to try the satin formula. I tried the original LuxeTrance formula and wasn't excited about it. Maybe I got the wrong shade, but I never thought the PMG formulas merited the price point. I'm glad they work for you, and you enjoy wearing them. That's all that matters.
It's not too much, this was so fun! That Tom Ford shade is stunning! Can you think of anything close to that but a bit less pricey? Even Dior or LE? Also, your make up today overall looks beautiful! Also, how close is that Chanel Mademoiselle to the LE Rose Official? They seem similar to me (but I don't own either!)
Hmm, time for some investigation. I haven't gotten around to comparing these new shades to ones I already have in other formulas. This was me cracking them out of the box for the first time and playing. I really loved this. +
I've been collecting these lipsticks and setting them aside for several months. They've been staring at me, and I was able to leave them alone except for 2 of the shades. I felt bad that I couldn't contain myself enough to leave them new and untouched for this video. I have 2 new Dior shades coming since they just reformulated both the Satin and the Velvet Matte Refillable lipsticks. I'll see how they stand up to the ones I already have in those formulas.

I'm very fortunate to have a neutral skin tone. Most shades will look good on me. With the right makeup, I can make any color work. There are certainly some shades that look better than others, and some that would look better with a warmer or cooler makeup look than the one I'm wearing.
Research is the best way to make sure you're getting what you'll actually use. If you have a location where you can go and color match in person, I'd recommend that. These luxury lipsticks aren't for sale at my local Ulta or Sephora. I had to look for online swatches, and reviews before making the purchase. There were a few that I purchased without any research, but I try not to impulse purchase too much.
@@thelipstickgal I have a neutral skin tone too. My issue is more that my lips are pretty full, so anything I put on is going to be a lot of whatever it is, which can veer into clown territory, or weird pasty neutral territory, or weirdly shiny/greasy looking if I'm not careful. I'm lucky to have both a Sephora and a Bloomingdales near me, so pretty easy to go test out luxury products (I just don't like dealing with pushy sales people). But anything at Sephora I will likely wait on for the spring sale anyway - with luxury goods those discounts really make a difference!

i get a thrill from finding a fantastic color and quality lipstick which is below $10. i still have a few. one of them i tried to repurchase and of course, cant find it anymore. 985 Loreal Daring Blush. that formula in particular is a dream. Next one is Rebel Rose from Wet & Wild. Still an amazing color on me and the dry matte still works for me. I dont like orange or super yellow toned lip colors so when I get a nice one in a cool pink tone range, I really wear the heck out of it.
I get a thrill with any amazing lipstick formulation. I'm willing to deal with packaging issues, price, and even adjusting the shade with a liner if it feels amazing on the lips. I haven't fallen in love with an affordable lipstick since the Milani Matte Fetish lipstick. Those are amazing!

Super late comments nd maybe someone below has already pointed this out too deep in the comments for me to have noticed, but the Guerlain lipstick refills do have the numbers stamped into them. It's very small on the back of the refill right where it meets up with the case. It is visible even when the case is on so no need to remove to see it. But it is VERY small, so I don't blame you for missing it. Anyway, love this video, even if it is 5 months old, whoops. Thanks for sharing. You've turned me on to a few that look quite promising. :)
I was used to the large script engraved on the back before they re-formulated several years back. Now, I'm upset that the new Rouge G lipsticks have been reformulated again, and now the old cases won't work with the new lipsticks. Nothing chaps my hide more than that! I probably won't purchase another one of these until I forget about the changes to packaging since the "reformulation"

im waiting on the new dior forever reform to drop to purchase 200 warm touch which was the shade i had in the transfer proof. Which incidentally i did a declutter on the first and was like ok it’s time for her to go maybe my friend wants to try it. Do you know she was broken lol 🫣 well ok bye then ha.
I haven’t been inclined to dig into lux like guerlain or clea de peau , i did try givenchy which i thought was fine but didn’t like the scent. Same feels on PMG too silicone type feeling. For me i like a matte but don’t mind a satin like the ysl pur couture i consider it to set down but not be transfer proof. I think i may need to try that Chanel intuitive shade though. Oh and i do really like the TF lipsticks but haven’t swatched any in a while. I’m still salty my favorite shade was discontinued so it made me not want to buy more 😂
I purchased the new reformulated Dior Velvet Matte and Satin Refillable lipsticks directly from the Dior website a few days ago. I can't wait to see if they're significantly different from the ones I have in my stash already.
its funny because i was like weren't these just reformed lol and it was 2 years ago. I can't imagine it would be that different, but i think im going to wait until they are on sephora or nordies at least. Thankfully the old component is interchangeable with this new one for the refills, but i love N100 matte so im hoping that shade has not deviated.@@thelipstickgal
@@anneviscardi the Velvet matte in 100 isn't the same shade as the satin 100. The satin is more peach, and the Velvet is more pink. 😥 I was hoping they would be identical in shade. I'll have to adjust the satin with a pinker liner. That shouldn't be hard to do, but I'd have loved it if they were the same shade.
@@thelipstickgal yea that’s weird. I’m not even sure how i fully decided on the matte. I think i just saw someone wear it in a video and my store didn’t have the other two to compare. That and the actual displays always missing testers I usually don’t go for nudes that are too pink but i think the matte ends up more neutral on me. Oh and i think 200w is the velvet so I’m excited to try that one but I’d probably want to try the satin too.

I have tried almost all of these except the Shiseido, the Tom Ford, and the Cle de Peau.
My favorite luxury lipsticks are the Gucci (all 3 formulas Matte, Satin, Voile in that order. If I could only have one lipstick brand, I’d pick Gucci) but I do also love the Pat McGrath MatteTrance lipsticks. For me they are comfy, last on me for so long, and I adore them-but I buy them on sale always. (I love the shade Fever Dream. On me it’s a dark coral) With the other luxury brands I have shades I like, but haven’t branched out and gotten shade upon shade upon shade like I have with the Gucci and Pat.
What I have learned from this video: I really want to try a TF lipstick when I find a shade I love. And after your reaction to the Shiseido I want to try one of them pronto. I know I love their lip gloss (Toki Nude… omg, it’s stunning) so I can’t believe I’ve never tried their lipstick. And I only have one Armani red lipstick but I love it. I don’t see another shade I must have. But if that shade comes along, I’ll get it! It’s a great formula!
I have one Hermes lipstick that’s phenomenal (and talk about expensive! 😳) and I’ve wanted a Dries Van Noten forever. (I admit I mostly want a Dries Van Noten because the cases are so stunning 🤗.)

I've been loving my Voile Gucci lipstick so much recently. It's been in my handbag for almost a month. It the perfect sheer shade that goes with almost anything. I have more "obvious" colors in the Matte and Satin formulas, so they're less of an every day lip, and more of a statement lip. I also have the Care and Shine formula (the one in the skinny black tube) but it's a bright terracotta shade. Not one that I could easily reach for with any makeup look. If I wore more neutral or minimal eyeshadow I think I could wear any of the Gucci lipsticks any day.
I'm trying to pick up some of the formulas I haven't tried yet so I can do a fairly good round up of formulas. Matte, Satin, Sheer, ect. The Shiseido lipstick is so comfortable on application, but it dries down a bit. It's not drying, but it doesn't stay in that same super slippy and glossy form. It is comfortable, but is marketed as a longlasting lipstick. It says it stays put for 6 hours. I haven't worn it for that long yet. My daughter wore it for half a day recently, and the shine went away after the first 2 hours. Then it was more matte in appearance but the color was very pretty. I liked the price and the formula so much that I picked up a second tube in a red. I hope when I wear it all day, it doesn't dry my lips out.
I wanted to pick up a Hermes lipstick, but the only shade that really called to me was the limited edition shade in Prunenoir. I don't want to get a limited edition shade that I can't use on my channel once it's out of stock. I have been eyeing the Dries Van Noten lipstick, but I haven't quite gotten the nerve to try one yet. One expensive lipstick at a time. I've picked up too many to feel good about dropping that amount of cash right now.

Prunenoir looks like the sort of lipstick I would love for everyday wear, but that type of investment in a limited edition product just doesn't make sense to me. I need to take a look at the Prada lipsticks and the other shades of the Hermes lipsticks.
@@thelipstickgalI have 3 of the Prada hypermattes. I got 1 and asked for others for Christmas. It’s so so good. I haven’t tried the soft matte yet. The hypermatte isn’t matte or dry feeling feeling at all. At first I thought I must have accidentally gotten the soft matte, but nope! The shades are just so pretty, too.

I will never buy a Pat McGrath lipstick. I love Elson, but the 2 times I bought this shade I had trouble with the package. The gold part of the tube fell. Then, its cover would fall inside my purse, exposing the lipstick. The sequins are a waste.
I'm not a fan of the PMcG lipstick formula, but I thought it would be good to have one for my luxury lipstick rankings.

Yes! They should be. I'm finally getting better at looking at the same shade across skin tones. Normally I just look at what the shade I'm interested in looks like on the fair/light model. When I start looking at how that shade looks on other models, I notice when there's Photoshop involved or if a color changes based on the under tone of the models skin. Sometimes a shade will end up looking more orange, yellow or pink based on the varying under tones of the models. That's what helps me decide to pick something up or skip it all together. I still feel like I'm crossing my fingers and making a wish every time I pick color cosmetics up online. 🤣
