your use of light never ceases to blow me away, its almost like you get the *feel* of photography and put it into digital art. which is extremely appropriate with the themes of fisheye placebo.
can't help but to giggle thinking when she warps the window panes into place at 0:41 the window panes look like they're walking their ways to the sides of buildings
I really like your artworks, what you choose to express through them and how you do it, so of course I'm thrilled to see that lately you've been talking about and uploading videos. I know you re busy, but I can't help being selfish and wanting more videos. They are very helpful and incredibly inspirational. So, I'll just say this: please, even if you don't have time to edit and prepare a video, just speed it up and upload it without the captions. Even simply watching these videos would be amazing and I know we'd all love to get more content.
I really want to thank you for posting tutorials and speedpaints like this, you have no idea just how helpful and meaningful it is for me. It's one thing to appreciate and try to learn how to paint/draw/ect by squinting and analyzing pieces from some of your favorite artists, but it's unending frustration when you try and fail to figure out and replicate the techniques they use. This is the biggest problem I face personally. I want to try and better my skill because I really do love the making of art and wish to expand my horizons with color/style/ect. but there is no way I can figure out how to shade or color just from looking at art by itself. I'll try so many different techniques to figure it out, but I only end up becoming frustrated and ultimately give up because I cant do it. Videos like these are a blessing for problems like that. To actually watch in action and study an artist while they are in the process of working is SO helpful, it just boggles my mind. Though I do not have SAI or Photoshop, I'll still do my best to take what I've learned and apply them to my own art to hopefully better myself, but at the end of it all none of that would be possible without you making videos like this. Thank you, SO much, for everything you do; for creating, for teaching, for inspiring.... Please never stop doing what you do, and I look forward to seeing what other wonderful pieces you have yet to create.
Just finished drawing using this tutorial and quite satisfied:D Took me 3 days lol Tbh I wanted to quit digital recently but u inspired me to draw again❤️ thank you Yuumei for such a helpful vid! ❤️❤️❤️
within the first 23 seconds, i'm already blown away by how simple creating a background can be (but i just never thought of doing it that way? haha i struggle a ton with backgrounds and it gets messy fast). thank you so much for your tutorials,! i really admire your art! it's very inspirational ^_^
I cant believe I never thought to do building windows like that Just revolutionized my cityscape drawing process I love love love your videos ! Thank you for sharing your process with everyone
Your art is so magical and it all gives me a certain feeling that I can't explain, but it's beautiful and mysterious. I'm not good with words, but you've got a wonderful mind
Thank you so much Yuumei for making this videos and positing them for free. I admire your work so damn much and having these videos will help us artists who strive to get better :) I cant wait till winter break to try out a cityscape like this. Thank you so much!
Hey Yummie, love these videos! Always great to see artists helping other artists! And you're getting good at making these tutorial videos. I would like to see the process for something like "What it Takes To Fly" or "Connection" . One of my favorite things about your art is the use of color to convey the overall tone and texture. I'd love a more in-depth look at just how you choose, apply, and just how you use colors. I learned a lot from this one though! Very much appreciated.(you rock)
I love your style, this video really helped me! I think this time your captions worked much better, I felt I could read them while watching, rather than pausing, like the last video. Thank youuu!
for a year using clip studio i had never know about free transform and when i watch your tutorial now im able to know bout it. Thanks for the tutorial tho! its really helpful!!
Thank you for the amazing video! Years later, and it is still very helpful! An easy way to create window patterns would be to use the tile system in Gimp. By creating a small 100x100 canvas, you make a rectangle in any size you want it. Then you simply use the "Tile" function (Filters -> Map -> Tile) and it can easily make a big pattern for you to use as windows.
I saw this video 4 years ago,, this amazed me beyond anything I've ever seen. I was just a wee little artist back then, but I wanted to paint like this someday. Time has passed, and I grew as an artist. I still have a long way to go, but I got the basics... Sort of.. I was amazed, I wanted to be able to paint like this someday! But.. Even to this day, I have yet to learn how to paint like this ;_; (God damn it I suck at backgrounds 😢) I'm going to make an effort to try and learn how to paint like this, like how myself 4 years ago would've dreamed. #artistgoals2k20
oh god , this was incredibly helpful for making backgrounds !!! I always wondered how people make complex things like cityscapes, but the way you did it i was able to understand c: Cant wait to try myself ^_^
