Aww man, the one tire you hated are the first I bought for my SCX24. I bought the Roc Loc's because they were the only ones in stock locally ( I'm in Winnipeg, Canada, not exactly RC central, LOL ). Buying from the US is really expensive here, like double the price, because of customs ( not always, but sometimes ). I can say the Roc Locs are better than the stock tires, even though they are smaller, at least I've had better luck with them. My next set will probably be Rock Creepers, as my local store is out of stock, but carries them. Thanks for the through review, and your findings. I have 2 SCX24's so far, the yellow Jeep and the grey Chevy. The Jeep is modded with a lot of Hot Racing parts, as well as RC4WD parts and a Barrage motor. The Chevy is box stock for now, I'm building sections of my indoor course and using both to judge how hard to make sections / lines. Right now, in Canada, it's hard to find any parts at all in stock anywhere. Hoping to see more interest in this size of RC, as indoor with this is so much fun, and winter is coming !! Thanks .
Echobeefpv the rock lox are better than the stock tires. It is an upgrade be it a small one. If that was my only option I would buy a set of rock lox and proudly run them!! Thanks for checking my video I appreciate it!!
Yeah I love my rock creepers, I want to get some of the Mickey Thompson’s, appreciate you sharing the video I just subscribed I’ll be watching for more, this is the beauty of the Hobby love it
I’m working on it. I finally got another set of steel bead locks to mount them on so I can do some testing. Finding tires and wheels are becoming a challenge to find for a decent price.
One thing I never hear addressed when switching to bigger tires is that it basically changes the 'gear ratio' (so-to-speak!) causing you to have less low-end 'grunt', but higher speeds (less torque, since you have a bigger tire diameter). Can the gearing be changed to a lower (higher?) ratio to account for the larger diameter tires? Thanks.
Does the baja claws was a pain to mount on these? My 1.9's were perfect & easy, but i can't fit my 1.0's... it seems like the bead of the tire is too thick and screws too short 🤔
I have the superswampers and there great in wet spots over the others. I just wosh they were taller or the same height as my stockers on my scx24 jeep.
In 2024 What would be some of the best tire choices for grip, especially smooth surfaces like rocks? Im looking for an average size, not a larger tire. I'm new to crawling and i'm trying to get the best tire on the first try without having to switch to something else later.
I have the SCX24 Chevy C10. Did you need do cut the body shell to use the Mickey thompson baja claw tires? My question is because the stock tires have 50mm and the Mickey thompson have 56mm
The scramblers are they by Little guy? Do you know the size i.e(mm) I got me some of the "little guy" Trail King M/T and they are 64mm high and 24mm wideso they are huge so big in fact I changed my whole truck from a C10 to a rock buggy and I absolutely love them they are the best tires I have ever used. I had to cut my body fenders way up to fit but then went to a buggy so wth. The reason I ask is I am actually looking for a larger tire, I doubt there is one but since I went to this buggy conversion (it's bad a$$ btw) I have plenty of room to go bigger I actually think it would look better with something larger say 68 or 70mm I mean big but not scx10 big so I'm having a hard time finding something I like and I would imagine it doesn't exist but I'm still gonna look lol. Thanks.
Watching videos on TH-cam on upgrading my scx deadbolt and what you just said about the bigger tires won’t fit on stock rims. I just order RC4WD superswamers
Christopher Conlon the super swamped will not fit the stock wheels. The swampers are to wide by and the center is a little bigger for stock wheels. You will need to get some sort of beadlocks for sure.
Ya I just learned the hard way and ruined my rims and new rims tires. I also ruined the stock tires because didn’t know how to properly remove them. So now I need to new tires and wheels. Keep the helpful videos coming
Ha, Im just trying to find a set of those black beadlocks for my Jeep. I'm already set on the Creepers or Crushers. The wheels seem like hens teeth right now.
Don’t waste your time on the crushers!! Get the creepers they are way better!! Everything scx24 parts related is very hard find right now with all the lockdowns!! Everybody is buying these things and running them indoors!! The scx24 is insanely popular right now!!
The Baja claws felt a little to big to me. I was afraid that when I went to glue them I be wouldn’t be able to get them even and they would have dried out of round. I’ve seen picture of them on stock wheels some guys have mounted but have no idea how they did it successfully. The hard part know is the scx24 platform is insanely popular and parts are very hard to find in stock and if you do find them they are significantly more $$$. I would try ebay I’ve seen some pretty cheap plastic beadlocks that would probably work. Unfortunately at the moment all the tires and beadlocks in this video have really went up in price and difficult to find in stock!!
I have the 2 sets of rc4wd beadlocks in deep mode and and a set of the Goodyear wranglers and the milestar Patagonias I actually like the Goodyear's more even though everybody said I'd like the Patagonias more ..and I run foam in the front and nothing in the back only due to the fact it's easier on the (stock) servo I find.. But Has anybody used mr cnc wheels? There is a pair of 5 spoke bronze/aluminum beadlocks I want to try they look real nice
Do the Baja Claws fit the C10 without trimming? I had initially decided on the Creepers because they looked like they would fit without trimming anything. Axial just made the C10 look too nice to hack it up too much. Thanks for sharing, and for giving me another tire to consider.
Hey how do I get my beadlocks to stop spinning? I bought the Baja’s and 1” steel beadlocks to put them on. Unfortunately these wheels spin like a skateboard wheel with a bearing. How do I correct this????
Sounds like you don’t have the metal ring inside the tire so two wheel halves pinch the rubber between the steel ring and the wheel half when bolted together!
How does the size of the scramblers compare to the size of the stock deadbolt tires? I'm hesitant to get tires that are smaller than the stock ones because the wheelbase on the deadbolt is slightly longer than on the other models, so a smaller tire would compromise the breakover ability.
Garrett Breindel Rc4wd scramblers are significantly bigger than the stock nitro grapplers. The deadbolt is the only scx24 that they will fit on without major modifications. Rc4wd just came out with new tire called the mud slingers and those are a little bigger even than the scramblers and give you better traction from what I understand. I got a set on order so I’ll be doing a video on those too! The only down side of the scramblers is plan on for sure a servo upgrade the stock servo struggle out of box and adding bigger tires makes it way worse!!
Since I have made this video I have tested the bigger some more and I am starting to really like them but they are still not as good as the Baja claws! I appreciate you checking out my video!!
They well worth the money!! Best money I’ve spent on rc’s in 15 years!! It was by shear accident I ended up with these. My wife and I wanted to get into the crawler game so we went down to our local hobby shop to see what they had. Now I had been in there a few times and seen the scx24s and thought how much fun can those be they are freaking tiny. So as I’m kinda looking around I here from the distance “hey why don’t try one of these” and hands a controller to my wife it was their demo scx24. It was all over after that she love it and we bought two that night and been having a blast ever since!!
I just spent $45 on bead locks and bought the Baja claws for my deadbolt thanks to you!
Thanks for the view!! You won’t be disappointed!!
@@RCOFFROAD do you leave the foam inserts? Thanks!
@@Zachvlogs I run the foams in the front and no foams in the rear. They work very well that way!!

GREAT advice mounting the hubs on the outside of the stamped steel beadlock wheels - thanks for that!

Great review, some good intel. Thanks 👍
If you mount the tsl boggers on headlocks with no foam they are fantastic. The headlock seals them up like they have really low air pressure in them
Thanks for the vid! Got the creepers. Waiting on the claws to get back in stock.
No prob. You might wanna check eBay out. You can get some decent deals. That’s where I got the boggers and Baja claws.

You can probably change the axle gears to lower the gearing.
Put Wd-40 on the hard tires and let them dry them check them out. Should soften them up.

All the chrome comes stock out of the box with it when you buy a green one. The chrome wheels I added and they are Rc4wd steel chrome beadlocks.
