Even Nyjah did it when Element wouldn’t turn him pro as a kid, he created I&I Skateboards and became the first pro. This definition of a “pro” certainly needs to be updated for modern times. The archaic 80’s definition of being pro makes little sense in this modern age of skateboarding

I remember every time I saw this kid at a skatepark in Arizona at some point he would ask me to play skate.. He was about 8 to 10 years old, and I was in my twenties.. a few years later I see him on the mega ramp.. crazy of the progression of this guy. Now he’s a grown ass man getting it!

Skateboarding is becoming really weird with the term “pro”. It really has an archaic definition, and in a few years will probably need to be re-evaluated for modern times. This guy was known around the entire world, gets paid huge money and makes a living from skating for years, had TV shows, endorsements, etc. Yet wasn’t considered a “pro”. Idk, as an analyst in a different field, I see this as something that will need to be addressed in the skate industry at some point, especially when there is very little money to made in skater royalties from board sales.
I'm guessing Jagger would of found it hard to find a good fit on a board company, he's kind of a tricky one to place on a team I don't think the core skaters show him much love.
