    Albergues are where to stay! Have walked 6 caminos and have never pre-booked! On the Primitivo, the Municipal albergues had DOZERNS of empty beds while the pre-booked tourist places were full. A lot of people appear to be AFRAID to stay in albergues! If we do not use the Albergues, we will lose them--lost the albergue in Dozon on the Sanabres from lack of people staying there. Do it right--NO pre-booking and No taxis to carry your pack! Rather than spend money for your backpack to ride in a taxi, consider buying a bed or a meal for those who walk with nothing!

      That’s true, many people are afraid of staying in Albergues, not knowing that the best spirit and atmosphere is there!

    Hi, it's Grace from California. Thank you so much for this very informational video. You answered a lot of the questions, and I am very appreciative of all of it. I will be making my first camino in the autumn, at age 71, and this video and the one from a few days ago have been instructive. Thank you🌞🌻

    The best experiences I've had at albergues have been between the typical stages. Just stop in when you see something interesting. Usually you'll find very involved owners and experienced pilgrims who know all the pilgrim etiquette. Usually you can find family style meals too!

    Hello :) I've been watching your videos for a while now, getting ready for my first camino :) In this video you say that you cannot book albergues at all, but in the linked video in the end, you say that you can book albergues the night before or even from home before the camino. Is this something new from this year? Is it only for the camino frances?

    • @caminotellers
      @caminotellers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! You can only book the private albergues, any time you like, on any Camino. The donation based and the municipal cannot be booked. Which Camino are you walking this year??

  • @davidabbott1788
    @davidabbott1788 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi is there a booklet that lists donativos and municipal Alburgues?

    • @berthabrathuhn9382
      @berthabrathuhn9382 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For the Camino Francés, you can get a list of the albergues in St. Jean Pied de Port at the pilgrim's office.
      That list also includes private albergues, but it is always indicated whether a place is municipal, parroquial or private, and also prices (or if they're donation based). Just highlight the municipals and donativos in the list if you prefer those :-)
      The list also has all the information about whether the albergue has a kitchen, how many beds, distance to next town, ect.
      Very useful little booklet!
      Buen Camino!

    Hey guys. I dont want to be negative but i have noticed in your shorts and other blogs you refer to the Camino de Santiago alot but when you do that you are only talking about the Camino Frances. Maybe you should try to enlighten your subscribers others. As your poll question was about problems with the Frances pointing people to other caminos might help alleviate some pressure which it is experiencing right now. Just a thought, maybe 2 too many beers after my walk today on the Mozarabe😁. Dont get me wrong i enjoy your content. Love you guys.

    I saw an albergue host deny a german because 'she didn't like the look of him'.
