Just know there are many ppl with horrible family situations. Blood is not thicker than water. Family is what you make, not what you're born into. I have an awesome, self-made family, and im happier than I've ever been

So appreciate you sharing these stories. This was insane you guys had to go through this and hopefully it gives someone going through nonsense now the strength they need to cut ties for their mental and physical health. Big hugs lady ❤

Girl, so sorry your kids can't have a loving relationship with their grandma. But she chose to be difficult if not impossible to get along with. Not all families get along together for sure but the kids don't need the negativity. I need this next episode please!!!

OMG, there's only one more part??? So it isn't so.. this story has me wrapped up in it. I will say you are a strong woman for taking all this shit. I commend your husband for knowing that even though she's his mother, he knows he can't do it anymore.

My mother is just like your mother in law ! She’s a narcissist! She did end up kidnapping my child because I did allow her to take him on a summer visit after not speaking for 4 years and 7 years prior to that! She field a false cps claim which was immediately closed within hours and she took me to lengthy court out of state mind you! Terrifying ordeal straight up nightmare! Bravo to you and your husband for sticking together and setting strong boundaries!

I just want to hug you. I have been there with my First mother in law. Same issues minus kids, because I refused to have kids with him after I heard him and his mom talking sheet about me at family dinner and embarassing me in front of the whole family Aunts Gmas ect. I ended up escaping at 3am one morning. He did not find out until I was in another state.

Yeah, it sounds to me like you're dealing with a narcissistic mother in law. Going no contact is your best option. I had to file a protective order against mine. Feel greatful she hasn't hijacked your husbands mind like mine did to me. Now im staring down the barrel of a divorce. No need to tell me more, stay strong, maintain no contact, no family deserves the treatment a narcissist gives! Their kindness is how they get you! It's all bs if you ask me!

Why do these narcissistic people think that we would give them the most precious things in our lives when we don’t trust them enough to be wholly in our lives? Insane!

My father’s family fought over their dad’s estate to the point where it was literally worthless. They drained hundreds of thousands of dollars bickering over nothing. People like that show you who they are. My heart hurts for you both, even knowing this story is older and it’s already over. Take care of yourselves. ♥️

My mother-in-law insisted on staying with us for 30+ days every summer. Then will sit on the couch most the time and order my kids around. Last visit she didn't tell us that her flights were 6 weeks apart. She sneakily stayed for 6 weeks.

It's sad that your children are missing out on a Grandparents love but not all Grandparents should be around their grandchildren. I've severely restricted contact between my mother and children (thankfully they have now grown) as I could not trust what she would say to them.

I’m pretty sure this woman is very ill. She’s either paranoid or hears voices. This is not a typical no contact situation. You can’t expose yourself or your kids to such unpredictable behavior.

My mother was like this. Yes, it was all about control. Who you may or may not talk to or associate with. If she felt something against someone, then you may not associate with them. She wanted you to function like a robot, not allowed to have your own mind and feelings, but only do what she says or wishes. She started out with some paranoia and later in life ended up schizophrenic.

I feel bad for your husband. You have a good relationship with your mom so you don't need his mom But it must be painful for him to have
such a bad relationship with his. Too bad she can't figure out that he loves her but she is at fault a daughter is yours all of your life but a sons only yours till he takes a wife
