Watching Arctic Monkeys interviews remind me of early interviews of the Rolling Stones in the 60s, the Clash in the 70s, Stone Roses in the 80s, Oasis in the 90s..Alex Turner is the carries the torch for the cool, English, bad boy rock aesthetic started by Jagger then passed through Strummer, Ian Brown, the Gallagher brothers...just a thought...love the last bit "fuck off that old stuff and play the new shit"

I like what Alex said the last pit. Although people are complaining about them playing too many songs off AM during their recent shows (although it's the album tour, duh) but when they played Fake Tales Of San Francisco at Glastonbury last summer the crowd weren't excited about it like, at all. I'd like them to bring A
Certain Romance back to their setlist at some point though because it's an amazing closer/post-encore song and fans still enjoy it a lot.
***** Yeah, people seem to love Mardy Bum, Fluorescent and the other songs you mentioned but when I saw them the crowd were most excited about R U Mine? as well as When The Sun Goes Down. I saw them in September though (shortly before the release of AM).
Not sure how they can justify playing Fake Tales anyway considering he has become everything he mocks in that song.

Which is quite unfortunate cause Fake Tales of San Francisco is one of their fun, lively, simple songs.

Fuck this... They played the old monkeys tunes in the US Tour and they are the worst fucking crowd, just watch Glastonbury 2013 and in every old song the crowd went crazy even though Alex did it without emotion. I love AM but you have to admit that the old songs have that sentimental feeling.
yeah people say stuff like "oh, now AM attracts lot of teenage girls" or something like that, but yeah I don't really care because they usually know the songs, the worst part is that now is "cool" to see the Monkeys so people just go to the concerts without even knowing 3 f***ing sons

He talks like this in most of his interviews. Go back and watch the early interviews. He tends to go deep into over-thinking mode and trying to find exactly the right words. He's a contemplative person by nature.
And then they fucked it up by making fans wait 5 years for their next album and came out with the awful ‘Tranquility’
That's happened cos Alex was working with TLSP and the other members had family and that. Also tbhc is currently my fav album all this time I hadn't understood those so meaningful lyrics.
