For everyone who commented - Mom is doing very well and back to her happy self, she was tired having 6 puppies, (she actually had 7 but lost one) you would be too. She did need a csection which is very common for beautiful healthy purebred chihuahuas with beautiful heads. Puppies are all spoken for and in their new homes. Everyone is doing very well. Dad is with family. Our dogs are Canadian Kennel Club registered, with health tests done and from Champion lines. We do not overbreed, our litters are planned and sold before breeding and they only have a few litters then retire. Thanks for all the comments :)

My Chihuahua had 9.
Yeah 9 puppies,I took her to the vet because I saw that she looked different than usual,
That's where they told me she developed a fever and could be fatal for the babies.
She went into surgery, had C section where they took all of them out.
The doctor said that never in his life has he heard of a Chihuahua to have more than 4-5 pups,
Sadly all 9 didn't make it :(
But my baby Leah is still alright and breathing.
Sadly none of them made it
Doctor also said that if I didn't take her in the day I did she woulda died the next day .
I'm so glad I took her when I did.

All of my bitch's litters have been 6 puppies, and always 5 females, 1 male. Kinda curious isn't it?
Mama doggie has the patience of a saint! She must be so tired and worn out, but she loves her little babies so much and makes sure they are well fed. Animals are the masters at demonstrating true love. Cute little mama with her baby puppies! I love you, doggies!

My doggie didn’t like having to leave her pups even when she needed to go outside to do her business, so whenever she’d come back inside after answering the call of nature, I’d ask her where her puppies were and she’d immediately start wailing while tearing down the hall to check on her girls even though those two were still fast asleep in their bed. 😂

Right exactly my veterinarian told me that since my two little Chihuahua’s were so small that they are probably have at least 2 , however I come from a family that has rescued Dogs each one of us in our own home keep that tradition on but the sad thing is here in Las Vegas when I have actually seen the pound it’s only full of Chihuahua and pitbull’s which are two of the best breeds and it breaks my heart I hope your babies are doing good and you found a good home for them
