- Founded in 1829, Tricker’s is proudly the oldest established shoemaker in Britain. Still owned by its founding family, the brand’s commitment to making Goodyear welted shoes and boots of outstanding quality remains wholeheartedly consistent.
Tricker’s footwear is made entirely from start to finish at its Northampton factory and, whilst manufacturing processes have changed over time, its craftspeople continue to follow the traditional techniques. There are 260 individual processes in the making of a pair of Tricker’s country boots and they each take a total of eight weeks to manufacture. When the time comes, and your beloved Tricker’s have seen better days, you can send them back to us and we'll restore them to their former glory.
Tricker's shoes and boots are crafted by those who live and breathe shoemaking; you will not find more skilled craftspeople. His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, confirmed this position in 1989 when he awarded Tricker’s his Royal Warrant.

After using another English brand for many years, that was sold to Italy I only buy Tricker’s now. Just bought two new pairs this week.

I have two pairs of Trickers Stow boots, one black one brown. I’ve had the brown pair for over 20 years, they’re a bit battered but beautifully comfortable.

Wonderful shoes, beautiful craftsmanship, great people. I love the 4444 Last, fits my feet perfectly. Wearing a pair of Trickers, in town, out in the Scottish Highlands or half way up a mountain in Nicaragua, makes me feel confident and comfortable. If only all businesses were as competent at their trade/service as Trickers.

Must make it my next boot purchase. One little point I’d do is make sure the box lid logo is read the same way as the interior cloth cover. Opening a box of new shoes should be like opening a new Apple computer, an event. :)

I have been fan of Trickers since Uni, I have about twenty pairs of Trickers, the repair price has risen to £200 a pair since the pandemic, I don’t see the logic in the higher price when the world is drained of money because of the pandemic.
We completely understand. Unfortunately, you must appreciate the cost of raw materials has increased incredibly, so a hard but necessary commercial decision had to be made to increase our prices.
I personality prefer Tricker’s double their prices instead of giving up and sell their beautiful business to investors like Church’s.

I have a pair of Stow’s in burgundy museum calf, they get a lot of wear in the autumn and winter. I like to support English made brands . One question though how do I polish them without losing the patina ?

Our Factory is in Northampton, England. You can visit our Factory Shop on Fridays when we're open to the public. We'd love you to come and visit us here at the home of Tricker's.
I bought a pair of Trickers Bourton Suede on a Dainite sole and one of the shoes is so uncomfortable underneath the ball of the foot. I sent them back to Trickers for repair but they did nothing, and said there was no fault with them. I have two other pairs of Trickers and another 8 pairs of Cheaneys with no problem whatsoever.
Does anyone know why the shoe is so uncomfortable? Is it a problem with the cork layer? I even snipped off the studs on the Dainite sole as they seemed to be pushing up through my foot when I walked. It did ease the problem slightly, but this shoe is still very uncomfortable when I stand up .
I have even taken to hammering the lumps on the inside of the shoe with a suitable drift and lump hammer.
Perhaps I should let Prince Charles know that he has given a Royal Warrant to a load of garbage

I'm very happy with my Stow boots. However I would disagree with the description saying they're made on a generous last. I have wide feet and fi d them quite snug. I certainly can't wear thick socks with them like I can with my Red Wing boots. It's a minor thing but as I said I'm very happy with them.

We certainly appreciate that not everyone's feet are going to fit every boot and shoe we make, and our 4497 Last is definitely one of our more generous sized ones that suit most people. We're really glad you're happy with them though, they're one of our favourites too.
The Malton is literally the Stow in wide fit. I have a very wide feet and I bought a pair of Malton and they are perfect.
@@MaxxSeemov if only I’d have known that at the time. That said as they’ve broken in they’ve stretched widthways and are comfortable. I can now wear a thicker sock with them.

I do not get, how a brogue is a country shoe. Those holes are just crying out, fill me with mud.
We sell Country Shoes that don't have brogue detail such as our Daniel Tramping Shoe. We also have a large selection of Country Boots that do not have brogue detail.
My Trickers, Cheaney’s, Alfred Sargent, Crockett & Jones, Barkers, Loake’s are my guilty pleasure. I regularly clean polish and care for them. There is something cathartic about doing this, when I put them on I still get a buzz as if they are worn for the first time. What I really like about handmade British shoes is that the skill and craftsmanship that’s gone into them and then as the shoe/boot is worn they start to develop their own character which can only be enhanced through careful cleaning,polishing and shoe trees. If I were a wealthy man there would be a real danger of me becoming a male version of Imelda Marcos with countless shoes from all the British elites lol its not a bad hobby to have 😁

I also agree with what you say about enjoying cleaning my boots. I can’t understand why some people don’t look after such fine bits of craftsmanship.
