As a woman who finds intellectual conversation stimulating, I hate that there's a higher likelihood for that to be the essence of the relationship. I know now that on occasion, I want to be foolish and dumb for a break. We are also highly targeted for our ability to engage in intellectual discourse as a start then it's followed by, be pretty, have some Nyash. Some men don't need the things they think they need. They love the idea of it but hate it when it's served.
This episode was very beautiful and personal. I want to share the link but I feel like you were so vulnerable, that I’m torn in between wanting to promote the show and to protect how personal this interaction was from any type of misconceptions. Always and forever, loving PPJ❤

What a fascinating discussion, esp the part about making friends as adults! Listening to y'all led me to reflect on how my definition of friends/friendship has evolved over time. Do you think your positions will evolve or have evolved over time?
Initially, my definition of friendship was similar to @Pumla' s model in that I figured that the people who'd known me for a veeery long time would be friends. However, moving around made it such that those people were very far. Then I tried a version of @Primah's model in that I was open to connecting with people easily and thought those were friends. Then I noticed that I had more acquaintances than friends... So now my model of making friends takes into prime consideration shared value systems and the way people are intentionally choosing and interrogating their lived experiences. I also try to cultivate friendships with people who are making space to help me grow into the best version of me, and for whom I can reciprocate the same. @ Joel yes, the trope of men having to save things all the time also flattens men's emotional range so I'm glad there are people around you to help you challenge that.
