Thanks buddy, she’s a work horse for sure! I work it hard and it’s never let me down, never once had a break down either which is insane for how hard I abuse it. Thanks for watching!
Haha thanks Glen, it was a bit sketchy to say the least, specially the first time but after a time or two it wasn’t so bad, it definitely felt like it wanted to lift the front tires off the ground when I unloaded it:. Prolly shoulda backed up it instead . Thanks for watching!
Nice. I just got myself a bx tractor about 4-5 weeks ago. Thing has already paid for itself. lol. Spread almost 100 yards of top soil in two days with just myself and my wife. Had some friends telling me to go bigger.. and I'm gonna regret it.. but this top soil job is probably the biggest job I'll ever use it on for my property. Its a little beast...
Right on buddy congrats! They are little beasts of a tractor for sure! They do a lot more work than people give them credit for, if you’ve moved 100 yards of topsoil with it already and your happy with its performance then your gonna be very happy with this machine. Like they say it will do anything a larger tractor can do it may just take a bit longer but with the types of jobs I do I find it’s usually just the right size
Thanks Bob I’m really glad you enjoyed my content, I enjoy making videos for you guys and showing you guys what I’m up to specially when I’m working jobs as I know it helps a lot of people figure out how they want to tackle their own projects or side jobs. Thanks for watching and I hope your doing well!
Haha thanks Bart, she’s an animal for sure! Iv got quite a bit of upgrades done to it and have the fuel turned way up. I plan to make a video this summer about the upgrades I have done to it, thanks for watching 👍🏻
Haha you got it! The BX just never quits, I havnt done a single Job with it yet that it wasn’t able to fully complete and it’s never let me down. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Ed! Another great comment I enjoyed reading. Thanks for your support and I’m sorry I didn’t get back to your comments sooner. Life has been really hectic for me lately with my new pole barn build. Hope your doing well, stay safe!
Thanks buddy! Hauled out a lot more material than I thought I woulda but in the end it all turned out great, now he’s all set to get it too coated.. hoping to get back there in the next weekend or two. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

I couldn’t agree more Mark! If I had any larger of a tractor on this Job it pretty much woulda only slowed me down I feel.. being able to manuvor on that tight driveway and being able to dump and turn around in the road was key on this job. People always ask if I’m gonna get a larger tractor but the BX always proves itself time and time again to be just about perfect fit 85% of the jobs I do. Thanks for watching !
When digging up compacted soil "fluff" factor is about 30%. If you measure that you have 10 yards of soil to move it'll make 13 yards piled. Best addition I put on my dump trailer was a 5-10 watt solar trickle charger. Batteries are always good to go when I use it. Great tractor work and keep up the content.
Thanks buddy that’s good to know! I love the solar trickle charger idea, how much did you pay for it? I’m def gonna let my brother in law know about them and once I get my own dump trailer I’ll certainly be buying one!
@@BiffsEquipment I think it was about $40 on Amazon. It has a little voltage display on the charge controller it came with that connects between the panel and batteries. It's been great
Thanks Wayne I appreciate it buddy, yah I try not to get too close with the cutting edge, last thing I wanna do is tell the customer “sorry I chipped your nice concrete pad” haha so I’d rather play it safe sometimes and do a little shoveling at the end. If it were my own concrete I woulda got closer tho haha. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Job well done! That was quite the slope loading and unloading the BX in and out of the trailer. Yeah it's funny how there is always much more dirt than you think when removing it.
Thanks Paul, yah I agree it was a LOT more dirt than I thought there was.. I was thinning at the very most 3/4 of a trailer or so.. not 2 FULL loads! Haha but it all worked out. Yah that’s the one bad thing about that dump trailer is it sits so darn high, when I get my own some day I plan to get a modern low dump trailer so I can load the BX with out having such a steep incline, a few times I was worried the bx was gonna slide out the back haha. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Haha thanks man, I know I def had a few people who kept asking me when I was gonna make this video, glad it all worked out and the customer was very happy, plan to go back in a few weeks to top coat it on video, stay tuned and stay safe!
Dude your bucket work is phenomenal. I just picked up my first bx2380 a couple of weeks ago and plan on digging a garden plot for myself but wasn't sure how to go about it with the loader. Insane, man!
Thanks buddy, glad I could help! Sometimes if you can just see something be done first you’ll know exactly how to tackle your own project. I do the same thing all the time and that’s what makes TH-cam so great. I’m Glad I could help, lmk how it turns out!
Mike, another great video ! Hey my I finally took delivery on my B2601. So far I was able to get to use the grapple that I purchased with it. And then the rains have set it this weekend so I’m sidelined for now, take care buddy see you on the next one.
Awesome Herb! Glad to hear you finally got your B2601 I know you’ve been really stoked about it! I bet your happier than a kid in a candy store now! Sucks to hear about you getting rained out but I’m glad you got to use the tractor along with your new grapple before it hit! Hopefully once we get through these next few weeks things will start drying up for ya so you can get back out there, stay safe!
Thanks Dave! Yah the dump trailer def needs a new battery, and with battery prices the way they are right now I can see why he’s waited as long as he has to get a new one for it haha
great video I was thinking at the beginning of this video you're really could have used a box blade but you actually made it work with the front bucket I don't think after watching you could have done a better job with the box blade thanks for sharing
Thanks buddy, another guy commented saying he thought it woulda been faster with a boxblade but doing as many driveways as I have I know for a fact (I’m) faster with the loader.. but this doesn’t mean everyone is.. I’m just very comfortable with my loader as Iv been using it for years to do jobs like this. I also told him that even if I did use a box blade Id still need to use my loader to scoop and dump the material… In which case I’d be moving the material twice instead of only once which is another reason (on this specific job) I felt the FEL was the better option. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you agree! 👍🏻
Thanks Ross, it was! Very steep, when I offloaded it at his house I could actually feel the front end wanting to lift up as I backed it down the ramp.. theoretically I shoulda backed up the ramps instead of driving forward up them but I was just in a hurry to get to the Job so I wasn’t really thinking. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@@BiffsEquipment oh that makes sense because you could use the bucket to stop to reduce the forward tipping, and there is more weight on the back. Good to know.
Nice! Yah the Pirranha tooth bar is something in always wanted to buy and try myself.. but mainly for doing land clearing jobs and the sharp teeth are amazing for ripping through saplings/clearing land and hard ground.. I jist never got around to ordering one since Iv always gotten by just fine with out it.. I also felt it would impact my back dragging when spreading topsoil or certain other materials and didn’t wanna fuss with having to bolt on and off a cutting edge depending on the job I did but I’d still def like to try one at some point tho IMO it isn’t “needed” tho it may make life easier specially when digging in hard ground. Lmk if you end up getting one how you like it 👍🏻
Thanks! The BX always does a great job on these smaller driveway jobs. As for the cutting edge on the bucket, it is fully original. I have actually used it so much though in the last 3-4 years that the cutting edge has finally dulled and it needs replacement or for me to add a bolt on cutting edge. I never got an aftermarket cutting edge before as i felt the stock Kubota cutting edge worked so great that I never needed to. Hope this helps!
Great work on the driveway. I expect a video next week of finally putting the sleds away, as I looks like the water is finally going to dry up this week. I tried rolling today and it's still way too wet.
Thanks Ron, funny thing is I was gonna actually make a short video moving my sleds finally this weekend but it was STILL too wet! I did take care of my Ruts tho and was able to mow but it was still a bit to wet to drag the sleds but prolly by the end of the week!
You do great work I’m thinking of investing in one of these. I got some small jobs to do at my home. I think it would be worth it to buy one so then I can take my time with it instead of renting a bobcat for 250 a day.
Thanks man, I agree I think it would be totally worth it specially if you have a lot of work to get done in the next few years. A lot of guys will buy one new and then do all the work they need to do with it and when they are done they will sell it as it can be much cheaper than renting. They retain their value pretty good and as long as you take care of it while you have it you can get quite a bit of money back when you sell it (if you even decide to sell it once your done)
Hey James, i do a combination of things.. sometimes I use float.. sometimes I use down pressure at first then flick it into float.. and all while doing that I change my bucket angle to change how much stone I’m grabbing and spreading depending on what I’m trying to do. If you watch my “Spring driveway repair” video you’ll see towards the middle/end of the video when I work at a normal pace how I do my back dragging. It’s like 2-3 videos before this one.
Hey Dave, I use Beat Juice in the rear tires.. it’s the heaviest liquid per gallon for tire ballast, works great but can be a bit expensive specially these days. Thanks for watching !
Cool video. I would say that if you plan to do this type of work often you should get yourself a box blade/ scrapper. Would make easy work of that job in a lot less time. Easier on your machine as well.
Thanks buddy. I actually do this work very often.. if you go back through my videos I do driveway jobs every single summer for customers of mine. I’m very use to using my loader doing driveway work. I use to own a backblade which I used on some of my driveway jobs and if you go way back in my videos you’ll see a video or two where I regraded a driveway with it. I ended up selling it tho as it was a 6’ backblade so it was slightly too large for my BX and I was planning to replace it with a 5’ blade and never did.. As for using a backblade on this particular job, I feel the loader would def be faster because if I used the grader box I would not only have to dig it up with the box blade but then after I woulda had to use my FEL anyways to dump the dirt into the trailer.. so either way I’d still need to use my loader.. grader boxes really shine when your moving/spreading lots of material.. thays where they really save you a lot of time IMO.. such as when I come back to top coat this driveway.. then I agree a grader box will work better and be faster but I’m so fast with my FEL doing gravel work it doesn’t really bother me but I do still plan to get another back blade and grader box again soon just to have for jobs where I have to grade or spread out gravel on a really large driveway. Thanks for watching!
@@BiffsEquipmentI was wondering about how much you charge for a job like this of you don’t mind me asking. Love your BX videos, I just bought an older used/abused 2010’ BX23S that I’m going through and fixing some stuff on. So I appreciate your content!
Awesome Jarad! Sorry I’m just now seeing your comment! The bx1880 is a very capable machine! It will do just about everything a 23hp model can do. I would recommend that you ditch the smaller tires though and upgrade to the same rims and tires of the 23-26hp models.. this will give you more ground clearance.. faster travel speeds, and more tractive power! Check out my most recent videos and tbanks for watching!
Hey James, yes I strap the tractor down in all 4 corners with 3200lb rated straps .. sometimes if the job is not far from my house like this job I will only use 2 straps.. one in front and one in the rear.. which I did in this video which is prolly why you didn’t see them this time. Thanks for watching!
I run my hydraulic pressure at 2,450psi .. at 2,500 the relief starts screaming and making funny noises so I won’t go any higher but I’v been at 2450 now for like 8 months and I’ve yet to have an issue tho I wouldn’t recommend going that high. Most run 2000-2200psi TOPS
Hey Ted.. a 2,000lb roller is a lot of weight.. But I think it would handle it just fine.. you’d want to keep the BX in LOW range and listen to the engine/transmission.. if you hear the trans whining loudly when pulling it in low gear then it’s def too heavy and I’d be careful but if you hear the trans whining quietly and not even pulling the engine RPM down much or at all then you’ll be fine. My personal thought is it will be fine. I use a Gas powered John Deere Gator at work with a clutch system to pull a 1,000lb roller so If that little gas/clutch machine can pull a 1,000lb roller than the BX should have no issues pulling a 2,000lb roller specially in low gear. Best of luck and lmk how you make out!
Hey I love your videos I’ve watched everyone and was just curious do you have any recommendations as far as using RV antifreeze to fluid fill the rear tires.
RV antifreeze or windsheild washer fluid both will do the job, both are dirt cheap too and you can buy a cheap pump on Amazon and fill them yourself tho I use beat juice as it’s heavier per gallon than either of those but it’s much more expensive and nasty to deal with if you get it on your hands haha
@@BiffsEquipment Thanks a lot for your reply I think I’ll go with the beat juice or rim guard I think they’re the same only 100 bucks to fill both tires gives me that extra weight hopefully I never have to deal with the leak. Thank you for your reply appreciate it look forward to more of your videos bought a new BX 2380 and I’m following a lot of your recommendations.
If you don’t mind I got one more question for you I noticed on your bucket I don’t believe I seen a front edge bolted on do you have any recommendations or do you just use the bucket itself.
@@MrDave21689 I just use the standard welded bucket edge but you can go through your local Kubota dealer and have them order you the bolt on cutting edge as an add on to your stock bucket. It helps with stiffening the edge of the bucket when prying and keeps your bucket straighter longer and helps to keep your welded cutting edge lasting much much longer. I always planned to buy one just never did
Hey Reggy sorry I’m just finally seeing your comment! I run about 12-15psi in the rears (they are filled) and I run 28-32psi in the front specially when I’m doing heavy loader work.. most people run about 25psi tho in the fronts. Hope this helps!
Very cool man, yah I actually don’t like to talk about prices because it’s kind of useless when everyone lives in different parts of the country/world the prices fluctuate so much even from town to town or city to city let alone state to state.. so if I started listing what I charged either people would think I’m way too cheap or others might think I’m way too expensive which gets into a whole new debate so I usually just keep it to myself but I do give tips about pricing and explain how I price when people ask.. 👍🏻
Kind of a mix of everything, I been meaning to make a video demonstrating how (I) use my FEL since I feel I use mine a bit differnt than most.. I will usually tilt the bucket down at a slight angle, play down pressure with the boom and drive forward.. once I have a large chunk taken out at the correct depth I want then I will level the bucket off continuing at that depth. That’s the best I can really explain it atm
Oh man it feels great!! Also my yard is FINALLY starting to dry up to the point where I was finally able to mow out back where I rutted it up this spring, I fixed the ruts but still need to move my sleds on pallets so maybe I’ll do that next weekend. I have like 4 more side jobs already lined up and 2 more later this summer.. all while trying to plan for my nee pole barn build so I’v been pretty stressed out but stay tuned cuz my next job you guys will really like too when I get to it. Thanks for watching, hope your doing well!
Seem to be way overestimating how quickly a trickle charger can recharge a dead battery even at a five or ten amp charge you are looking at a full 20 hours for what looks to be a fairly large amp hour battery. Should have brought jumper cables and if you use it often install a trailer harness to your back bumper where you can charge it with the Dodge while using it.
Thanks Doug. The charger wasn’t a trickle charger tho.. I woulda never used a trickle charger in a situation like this.. I used a regular charger and had it on 50amps for about 2 hours because I knew the battery was already shot from last year so I wasn’t worried about damaging it by slamming amps to it like I did since it needed to be replaced anyways. I basically charged it the fastest way I could giving the short time I had to do it in as I didn’t anticipate the trailer to have a dead battery when I picked it up to begin with. As for the jumpers, I wanted to do this but I only had 1 set of jumpers, I woulda needed at least 2 sets connected together for it to reach my truck batterys. I even had a spare car battery laying around that I tried but it just didn’t have the amps or the power output for the dump trailer.. basically the dead battery was working better so I swapped it back in. Like I said I wasn’t expecting to dump 2 loads. I knew for sure I could dump it once on a 2 hour fast charge but knew it wouldn’t do much more than that with out a fight haha. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Thanks buddy, haha yah he pulled up a chair and just watched me the whole time.. I don’t mind tho, sometimes I’d rather have them watch to see how I do the work 👍🏻

Just bought a bx1880 with bucket loaded and 54 inch mower deck whay your opion
Awesome Jarad! Sorry I’m just now seeing your comment! The bx1880 is a very capable machine! It will do just about everything a 23hp model can do. I would recommend that you ditch the smaller tires though and upgrade to the same rims and tires of the 23-26hp models.. this will give you more ground clearance.. faster travel speeds, and more tractive power! Check out my most recent videos and tbanks for watching!
Do you strap the tractor down in any way when transporting the tractor?
Hey James, yes I strap the tractor down in all 4 corners with 3200lb rated straps .. sometimes if the job is not far from my house like this job I will only use 2 straps.. one in front and one in the rear.. which I did in this video which is prolly why you didn’t see them this time. Thanks for watching!
Driveway looks good. Smart move on the waterline. Question, what air pressure do you run in the front tires?
I keep them at 24 psi
I run my hydraulic pressure at 2,450psi .. at 2,500 the relief starts screaming and making funny noises so I won’t go any higher but I’v been at 2450 now for like 8 months and I’ve yet to have an issue tho I wouldn’t recommend going that high. Most run 2000-2200psi TOPS
A box blade would make this so much easier.
I woulda still had to use my loader anyways tho.. so I don’t feel it woulda been any faster being such small driveway (for me anyways)
@@BiffsEquipment you do have very good FEL Skillz my friend.
@@MRGreen79 thanks man I appreciate that!
How did you price the job?
Do you think a BX 1880 would be able to pull a two thousand pound yard roller
Hey Ted.. a 2,000lb roller is a lot of weight..
@@BiffsEquipment well I tried it out today and it didn’t seem to have a problem pulling it around did have in low range
@@tedharter4444 very good man good to hear! I figured it would work out, bx has plenty of pulling power
I always planned to buy one just never did
@@MrDave21689 awesome no problem buddy!
Heyy Biff, how much air pressure in your 4 bx tires?? Thx
Hey Reggy sorry I’m just finally seeing your comment! I run about 12-15psi in the rears (they are filled) and I run 28-32psi in the front specially when I’m doing heavy loader work.. most people run about 25psi tho in the fronts. Hope this helps!
I do a few driveway side jobs a month. Curious what you're charging for something like this particular one. No problem if you don't want to say.
What's your action with the bucket when you dig down a little? Do your curl or lift the bucket?
Kind of a mix of everything, I been meaning to make a video demonstrating how (I) use my FEL since I feel I use mine a bit differnt than most.. I will usually tilt the bucket down at a slight angle, play down pressure with the boom and drive forward.. once I have a large chunk taken out at the correct depth I want then I will level the bucket off continuing at that depth. That’s the best I can really explain it atm
Does it feel good to be back out in the dirt?
Oh man it feels great!! Also my yard is FINALLY starting to dry up to the point where I was finally able to mow out back where I rutted it up this spring, I fixed the ruts but still need to move my sleds on pallets so maybe I’ll do that next weekend. I have like 4 more side jobs already lined up and 2 more later this summer.. all while trying to plan for my nee pole barn build so I’v been pretty stressed out but stay tuned cuz my next job you guys will really like too when I get to it. Thanks for watching, hope your doing well!
That old guys a tad weird, haha
Which BX model is your tractor?
It’s a 2013 BX2370 with an LA340 loader
Did that old man grab a chair and watch you the whole time? Lol
Thanks buddy, haha yah he pulled up a chair and just watched me the whole time.. I don’t mind tho, sometimes I’d rather have them watch to see how I do the work 👍🏻
