Of course, the Subaru isn't made to compete with the Bronco offroad. Though for how comfortable, quiet, and well-mannered the Subaru is on the road. It does well. It'll still get all but the most difficult to reach camping spots. It would be cooler if it had a similar "locking rear diff" that the Bronco Sport can get.

@@om606channel that’s good. I owned a company in 2014 and we had a fleet of 12 2014 and a few 2015 Foresters. We drove them hard and treated them like you’d expect a Subaru to be driven off road. All of them had some sort of cvt issue. Some had complete failures, some would have chain slip, but all had some sort of issue. Every single one of them consumed oil. Sometimes as little as a quart per oil change interval all the way up to 1 quart per 1000 miles. I had one of my fleet blow a head gasket as well. Despite being told that they were fixed. We leased this fleet so it was completely stock. Subaru denied my claims every single time and fought us like we were criminals. They said the issues were a result of our driving. Thing is, we drove them exactly how Subaru markets them on tv commercials. We eventually hired an attorney, sued them and joined a class action lawsuit. They settled and we got out of lease. Enjoy your Forester. We liked them, but Subaru is a garbage vehicle. The Chrysler of Japan.

So you’re saying a Subaru with street tires can do all the same off-roading that a Bronco can

The Bronco has the obvious ground clearence advantage .
Try this test in 3 ft of snow .
My old 67 Bronco could crawl up a wall . ( The front bumper was replaced by a 4 inch steel pipe )
I used to travel on the Powerline Trails in Canada and also on Motocross trails for motorcycles .
I dont know about the new Broncos , Theyre probably nowhere as rugged .

Nothing is built as rugged anymore, that's for sure. I"ve since added a 5 inch lift and 37 inch tires to the bronco. Can't wait for the big snow to fall!

All I see is the bronco no having wheel spin and the outback following behind the trail that the Branco made and has wheel spin

Throw some knobby tire on that Subie and it will hold up fine. A little lift and it will beat most.

It’s nice to see you guys comparing the Bronco to a fair and even competitor…..unlike all the Bronco vs Jeep comparisons….it just not fair…. Them damn Wranglers…with their solid axles up front, tons of aftermarket support and years of off road domination….it’s so unfair. Pisses me off! Next you need to see who can fit the most dogs in the back and do a vet haul comparison!

Why would anyone try to compare winter tires to stock Subaru tires?

At the end of the day, the new Bronco will not hold up near as well as the Subaru.
