Salam alikom. Quroot is Afghani dried curd. It’s widely enjoyed by everyone especially students and pregnant women. Qurooty is also afghani dish. Lots of dried pieces of naan in a a big bow and then you add this liquid form of after heating it up in Sauce e pan. Then you add friend onion slices as we top haleem.
You can qurooti in many ways I guess most common is what we call in Pashto “kari” or gurooti- diluted cooked with garlic and then fry dehydrated onions and garlic with good quality pure ghee or purified butter (the more the merrier, more love), and chop some day old bread into it- Absolutely delicious- another with with shola- rice and mong beans cooked together and make a well in the middle out the qurooti mixture made similar to above- thirdly you can have it with ash, and of course bolani eggplant or potato or squash. If you live abroad only the lucky ones can get quroot. I have been eating all these abides dishes made by my mom and now myself for over 30 years. My mom still makes it especially on our emergency days since they are a quick to go recipes, if you ever come to Canada Niagara region do notify us in advance and inshAllah will invite you for these dishes. Borani or as we call it bolani (not piraki type) it also pretty good and quick to make on days when your running short on time.
