What is Worship?
Worship is ascribing worth to something or someone. But true worship is also a matter of the heart. It must be felt. It can't be ritualistic. It can't be just an external going through the motions.
True worship is a heartfelt expression of love, adoration, admiration, fascination, wonder, and celebration. It's something that happens in your heart and soul when you begin to praise God for who He is and thank Him for what He has done.
Why is worshipping God so important?
“...and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” (Revelation 4:8)
Worshipping God is the ONLY thing we do in church that we will continue to do for all eternity!
Will there be pastors preaching sermons in Heaven? Will there be committee meetings, bus ministries, or children's Sunday school?
No, but we will be joining with the Angels and worshipping at the Throne of the Most High GOD!
What happens when we Worship?
“And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you.” (James 4:8)
When we worship, we draw near to God! When we draw near to Him, He automatically draws near to us. Problems look smaller, we gain perspective and wisdom. We feel His love all around us. Our hearts, minds, and sometimes even our bodies get healed up.

Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
4. Shouting to the Lord
Psalm 98:4-6 (NIV)
4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn-
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
5. Lifting our Hands
Psalm 63:4 (NIV)
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.

And bless the Lord.

8. Kneeling, Bowing or Lying Prostrate
Numbers 20:6 (NKJV)

1 Chronicles 29:20 (NKJV)
Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the Lord your God.” So all the assembly blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the Lord and the king.
9. Total Silence
Isaiah 30:15 (NKJV)
For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
1 Kings 19:11-12 (NKJV)
11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
