It’s one of the better cities in the South and worth checking out. In my opinion southern cities are usually not that interesting but Austin is kinda cool. In my observation it seems like visitors from far away are there on business and the vacationers from far away seem to skip Austin and visit New Orleans and Miami instead

The guy who commented probably got arrested on 6th being dumb. Austin is by far statistically the best Texan city, crime is low for a large city half the population owns a bachelor degree and it’s the 2nd healthiest city in the state with the best nature and nightlife.
Austin is nothing like it used to be when I moved here 37 years ago,it was a beautiful place to live,not anymore,it all rundown trash everywhere,not a clean city anymore,to expensive to live here,this is bad
@@ramencurry6672 when I do go it’s with some of my Texas Nationalist Movement members when we go walk the halls of the Capitol to talk with our legislators. Besides I don’t get bored this 71 year old retired merchant marine lady still drives anywhere I want to go in Texas.
Why don't you see people walking around downtown or cars on the streets? Is it a holiday or a Sunday when people are at home? It looks like a ghost town... it's not like New York where you see life on the streets...

Austin is actually one of the better cities in America..Most other cities in America are ghost towns due to the car culture and suburbs being more popular. While I like Austin a lot, I prefer the north east cities like New York, New Haven CT, etc…where there’s much more and short traveling distances between the cities in that region of the country

You’re probably right. However there are other criticisms I’ve heard that it’s Texas’s fault for not redesigning the infrastructure properly. I’m from the northeast and the population density is far greater and I’ve never heard of people complaining about other people moving in. The infrastructure is better organized in the north compared to the south overall
