Thank You, ThankYou. Same problem on 2012 Honda Fit. Dreaded taking it in today so researched and found your video. Easy Fix and no more annoying locks off and on while driving.
I got the same problem. Thinking of just cutting the red wire. It’s got high miles and hail damage and is just going to be a teenager first car. Not worried about resale value. Mine is driving me NUTS!!!!!!!🥜
You are a legend! Thanks so much for this video. My constant clicking for the last few months is now a thing of the past. I always use the lock button at the window switches anyway, so the fact that the lock nob doesn't unlock the other doors is no issue for me. In South Africa I was quoted R8000 to replace the actuator. That's a 10th of the value of the car! I'll take this 5 min FREE fix any day.
I want to thank you for this fix! I hope you don't mind but I posted a link to your video on the FitFreak forum so more people who have this issue can see it. By the way, DEFINITELY happy my issue was the same as yours, as I broke the red wire trying to pull it out of the connector, ugh. Thankfully the issue was solved so I didn't have to repair or splice the broken wire for now.
Mr. Honda Fit Guy, I want to thank you so much. I have been enduring the clicking noise for about 5 months now. It's been a nightmare because it's so annoying. I took it to my mechanic friend but he didn't know the issue well enough for a proper fix. Anyways, I watched your video, disconnect the car battery for safety, and disconnect the harness and then tried to disconnect the red cable but accidentally tore it out after an hour of trying to unplug it with different paper clips and tools. I then black taped the tip of the wire and took the car for spin and to my amazement no more clicking noise! What a relief because I would have paid $1K to make this pain go away as the dealer would have ripped me off. Please accept my thanks. It is a true joy not to be annoyed and I saved so much money. You must be an engineer and a tinkerer of the highest order. Thanks again for the lesson and making my driving life so much more pleasant!
Sooo Basically removing the red wire just disables the auto lock? I definitely need to do this for mine I hate the auto locks. Even if it didn’t constantly cycle idc for them
No the car still auto locks. You can disable auto locking by following instructions in your owners manual. Here is a link to fitfreak that tells you how: www.fitfreak.net/forums/general-fit-modifications-discussion/105872-disable-auto-lock-permanently-2012-fit.html
I'm having the same exact problem with my 13' Fit. But I'm having a hard time getting the red wire to release from the little white unit. Is there an easier way to get it to come out? I've tried a paper clip and a safety pin. No luck.
@@rmg2419 I would stick with the safety pin. While trying to get the safety pin in push the red wire into the connector this will relieve tension on the tab that holds it and allow the pin to slip into place. Once the pin is in place the red wire should come out easily.
I have a 2015 honda city which is having the exact same issue with the same symptoms that you mentioned Honking the horn or rolling up the windows (even the passenger window switches) causes the locks to cycle a few times, I noticed it happens way more when it's cold outside. Do you think I could fix the issue the same way you demonstrated? And why do you think this issue comes up in the first place?
It is definitely possible that it is the same setup and fix since they appear to share the same platform as the Jazz/Fit. However I'm not having luck finding the wiring diagrams for a Honda City so I can't confirm that. The cause is probably the microswitch on the door latch assembly is wearing out and has burnt contacts. My guess is if you disassembled the latch and cleaned the contracts in the microswitch it would work as good as new. Unfortunately I am only making educated guesses as I know very little about the Honda City beyond its wikipedia page.

I’m starting to wonder how common this problem is. Glad I could help.
I have the same problem. Does everything still work as alarm wise
Yes the honda alarm still functions like factory.

@@Lombardi54 I’m glad the video helped!
Thank you
Great temporary fix 👍🏻
Nothing more permanent than a temporary solution that works.
@@thehondafitguy lol
I used this for my wife’s car and is probably permanent
@@thehondafitguy😂 you're right!! Thanks for that "temporary" solution!

what should I do if not master door lock switch?
@@htetarkaraung-kj7cv I would try unplugging each door switch until I find one that stops the issue probably starting with the passenger front door.
