- Five years in the making, six months after announcing, the Top 10 Logos series has finally returned! As a thank you for getting this channel to hit 1,000 subscribers, I will be looking at PBS-affiliated logos, and not just any PBS logos, the cheesiest of PBS logos from the early 1970's to early 1990's. Grab some popcorn, sit back and relax, as we roast some old PBS logos for 30 minutes straight! I brought a few friends along as well, so you don't wanna miss out on this! I hope y'all enjoy this long-awaited video! :)

Once again I just want to say thank you all for not only watching this video, but also getting my channel to 1,000 subs! I cannot thank y'all enough for the support you have given this channel for the many years you have, even if my upload schedule has been sporadic. This was in production for five years and I lost motivation to continue making the video, but since we hit the milestone, I felt like it was only right to finally finish this video instead of leaving y'all empty handed. This feels like revisting an old friend. All of my previous favorite logo youtubers all here. Keep up the good work man. We need more people like you since so many of the other logo videos are just idiots that don't know what they're talking about. I'll never grow out of these videos.

The UNC logo at #2 looks like a pbs production company couldn’t figure out how to make something original for themselves so they had to force some wannabe hippie that dropped out of high school to make any random design for their logo. Same goes to the KWSU logo. I’m glad you’re back and congrats on 1,000 subscribers. Have you seen the A.K.A. Cartoon Logo? Maybe for the next logo list that you make, it could be in the top 10?
Number 4 sounded like a pinball machine
I swear #9 was an attempt to recreate the WGBH synth bit with a budget of a shoestring. GBH resident here, it still sucks you barely hear it anymore.
You know, some of your editing in this video reminds me of the older Caddicarus videos, spefically those from pre-2020. And I mean that as a compliment.
The commentary style, I was mainly inspired by Scott the Woz, he's one of my favorite creators on TH-cam. But there are a couple instances where I was inspired by Caddicarus, specifically the part where I yell "WHAT?!?" while talking about #1 lol. But yeah I can see the comparisons, I appreciate that.

How I missed your Top 10 videos! I loved these commercials, I miss NationFarm, the cheesiness of these logos made me narf a hundred times (OMG ANIMANIACS REFERENCE CONFIRMED!!!!!!! 😲🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓😂😂😂😂😂), and they did the moog synthesizers so dirty. I honestly reccomend this video of yours! 🤗❤

19:50 the font for KWSU is called Stop, it isn’t unable to read. They just didn’t use the font properly, the W is clearly an upside-down M!

For the South Carolina ETV ident, I would’ve put the logo with the turd/diarrhea color scheme from the early 70s . Aside from the colors, The Scanimate, font type, and music were all awful.

Why sid you have to use the worst quality version of the number 7 logo? Alden found a version from 1987 that sounds WAY less quiet than the one you used for your logo.

I never heard who Larry the Lone WOlf is, but I already have reservations against him. He somehow thinks the designers from a logo from 50 years ago would stumble upon this video, and try to make another ident with the only constructive feedback being “do better.”
Very helpful, man. How about you “do better” with your criticism of an ident being discussed by tons of other people like Ian already.
i found a another logo thats way worse than WHYY-TV 12 and even the logo is tv dx and has the worst tv dx quality

My opinions:
10. This logo started in 1981. Not 1978. It's fine imo. Not much to say about it.
9. Ugh imagine this is ur alarm. This ain't an alarm in Ohio, it's an alarm in Idaho this time! The view is beautiful imo. But OMG the music is awful UGH.
8. Gold and purple is a dull color scheme, but the gold is shiny so it's fine. The N is weird bc it should connect perfectly to the circle. Copyright is necessary bc it shows the meaning of AETN, and the year it was aired.
7. OMG the music gets louder and louder. The view is good, the logo is so 80s, but the music is the worst part. It gets louder 'til the end. Ugh. Also, this logo started in 1985.
6. Yep, this one is cheesy for sure. For '76, it's OK, but for now, it's ugly AF. The color of the BG is gross.

5. OK, first off, ur recreation of the V of Steel is nice. But this logo sucks tho. The animation is bad af. The music is fine tho. Disco-y imo.
4. UGH I HATE THE SYNTH. Who thinks this fits?! I know scanimate is common in the 70s but MY GOD this is cheap like it costs just a $20 bill. The synth is so ATROCIOUS AS F***.
3. Classic. I found out this is from Heart's concert in '76. But Kai the Logo Guy absolutely HATES THIS. Because of these reasons:
• The longevity of the logo ('76-'94, but now we found out it's only seen once in 1976)
• The animation
• The music
• THE FONT
2. The font is fricking unreadable. The E looks like a C, the T looks like a J since it's flipped. Sure this is from 1971 but my gosh this is bad for today. UGH? More like AUGHHHH
Honorable Mentions:
1. This logo is worse than the next one in number 5.
2. The music kinda sounds the same as the Idaho one in number 9. But the font is BOLD THAT I CAN'T READ IT PROPERLY! Just kidding.
3. First PBS logo when it's called PBS (before this, it's called NET). Boring, just an announcer saying that this is PBS, and just saying the meaning of it.
4. The beep of the countdown is irritating. Like the skyline of California tho.
5. Ah yes this one. I saw this at Kai's top 10 scariest PBS logos. It's #7 in that list. But it's just looks like a ripoff of WGBH.
Recap? FUGETABOUTIT. Let's just go to number 1 instead.
1. OH MY GOD THE FRICKING TRAIL EFFECT. Funny how the station's name is WHYY. F*CK YOU DELAWARE FOR THIS. YOU TOO PHILLY. Ugh. This is absolutely the worst logo ever. Your city is PHILLY? Dang I thought you like the 76ers for some reason. But seriously. This logo is bad.

Edit: I read your reply to my reply saying that some of the logos are outdated. But there's just one more error I saw. #5 started not in 1979, but 1981.
But #1 is from 1982?? That looks like it's from '74-'77. Not '82. But UGH this logo is so much cheese.

YEAH I'VE SEEN WORSE. Combine the last two logos and that's what u get. But the year. 🤦♂️ Seriously, that's from the 80s? 1982? NINETEEN EIGHTY TWO?! why?! That looks like it's from the 70s, but I understand it's the 70s-80s transition, that's why. I got the information for the logos off AVID (formerly the CLG Wiki), and they tend to be pretty accurate with the dates. I will say a couple of the logos' dates are outdated, but I couldn't update them before getting the video out cuz the wiki was down. But for KTCA and KUED, they say the dates that I put for them in the video, so I'm just going off of that. Interesting to hear your thoughts on these logos tho.
Also, I gotta say 1975-1985 are the years that has the cheesiest PBS stations logos.
