- Rapids are the characters that have changed the most in My Hero Ultra Rumble and right now it feels like Uraraka is at the bottom. Ever since the nerf to her beta I feel like I almost never see Uraraka anymore with most playing Froppy or Iida over her. After playing her again while her gamma combos feel good to pull off the beta is her main attack and is a massive shell of its former self. Curious on others thoughts on the current state of Uraraka. It happens in every fighting game. The most popular characters are either nerfed, or get their weaknesses figured out. In Ochaco's case, it was both.
Yeah I remember it clearly with fighterz. On release people thought Goku black was broken then he went to bottom tier once they realized he had no mix

I think it sort of depends on how people play as her. Now that her hitbox has been decreased ( to an unnecessary amount in my opinion, nerfing all levels was just ridiculous ), her playstyle has been adjusted and you gotta be more close up than usual. People were just complaining about her because they didn't know how to counter her properly. From my experience, its given me a chance to practice her more, especially with her combo. However I do feel as though the nerfs brought her to the bottom of A tier. The devs need to find a way to balance her car without overdoing it. Maybe increase the cool down when you used it all up or have it at 5 seconds max for every use but overall, while its a bit harder to hit people with beta, i think it just gives more opportunity to practice and improve more and I still think ochako is very amazing and fun to play with!
Yeah it’s clear they wanted more people to use her gamma and the gamma combo itself is still a strong burst damage option she possesses and is satisfying to connect with.
it's kinda funny, Uraraka's Beta was nerfed, but now Floppy is now dominating with ranged betas.
Not all of us play characters with shields or amour. She's not able to be countered by those characters, to this day. Saying Ochaco's Beta is counterable, is like saying projectiles are counterable. In reality, Kendo and Mr. Compress are the only people able to counter projectiles.
@@Hm.mmmm0 okay so clearly you have no braincells because she CAN get countered by characters who dont have armor or shields. mt lady's beta can stun her guard or no guard, toga can beta spam, denki's self explanatory cuz he can stun with his gamma, kendo can block with her guard, and basically the entire cast could counter and 1v1 an ochako especially when she has her beta below lvl 9. I dunno how you think ochako is THAT powerful, kinda wish she was but she isnt.

That froppy in first game wanted you dead so hard Demon but at the end she's been punished😂. Rapid characters are all annoying in something of thei kit but y probably uraraka is now the weakest of the 4. That beta change of range is definitly a thing you can notice but is still very playable as always they didnt kill characters when they nerf but y now there's less uraraka in lobbie ranked while in unranked i saw her a little more. Super video as always Demon, that combo of gamma and alphas was super cool❤
Yeah that froppy was the villain of my story 😭 and like you said uraraka isn’t dead by any means, she just has to make the most of her whole toolkit more then before
Whenever I get a really good Ochako game, I always jokingly tell my brother that it's like she never even got nerfed. That being said, the changes have definitely forced me to play her differently. I've had to learn when and how to utilize gamma whereas before I'd only really pull it out for ambushes since it's so unsafe. I really hope they'll make the cast time on it faster because under really awful circumstances it can easily get you killed.

The rapids are all god tier. Even ochako, the nerf fucked her up, yes, but a honda civic is a honda civic you feel me?

I haven't tried it in a bit, but try Gamma -> Jump and Alpha -> 2 Beta hits -> Gamma. I don't know if I'm remembering correctly that it works, but if it does that should be notably more damage, but it's a bit more involved. The Beta range nerf makes her even less functional below level 4. I think that her early game before was actually workable, but that particular change means that the sentiment of her needing to max Beta to do anything in a fight closer to true than it ever actually was (and that's without considering the hit detection shift). Her second stage Beta's hitbox was already a bit iffy before in that it was smaller than the model made it seem if I remember correctly. Gamma is more reliable now thanks to its area of effect increase, and I agree that it might be to get people to use it more (like Momo's and Iida's Gammas) or a sort of compensation for what the devs might also consider a major hit to her primary combat engagement tool.
Yeah more then ever I feel like I need to get the beta to 9 or else it feels so awkward trying to hit people with the lower tier versions of it 😭. I’ll give the sequence a go in training mode later, TY

One of my favorites to do
I think to balance her, at the bare minimum increase the damage her alpaha and civic do at all lvls. Know what i mean? u can no longer spin to win, which, fair enough, but she struggles to do damage. Even if she does do alot of damage in her combo, she uses everything up at once, so now your stuck with a melee character till ur stuff gets off cooldown. Or, give her an additional alpha shot, so from 3 to 4, that way she can keep her current damage, but be able to get away. Also a hot take of mine is she needs a change to her special action. I like her float, i just wish it could be used airborne, thoughts? I have other ideas for her but not sure if they would butcher her or make her too op. That being said, shes my main, and i can still 1v3 multiple people, only used her this season and climbed all the way to ace with her. Oh almost forgot i think an interesting change would be if her alpha dosent connect it does take a charge away, but im iffy on that one. Also great gameplay and awsome vids, keep it up!!
Special would be so fun to use while airborne.
If you time it right you could probably gain a lot of distance/air time, or break ankles.
Yeah I like the idea of giving her an extra alpha shot, like you said the combos she does have use up most of her resources in one burst making her follow up game afterwards weak. Special action being used mid air wouldn’t be too bad eithe r
I think they should have kept her beta, but give it a longer cooldown when not used up and a burnout mode like Kaminari and Ida. Then she can have a reliable attack with big damage, but a solid draw back to not just stand over down opponents and use it for their wake up over and over again.
That one emote with her close to throwing up could be an interesting draw back from overusing her gravity
You should revisit twice, he got and alpha buff and it was huge, he does 87 base now(used to do 60), plus they buffed his jumping punch from 60 to 90

Since last Uraraka video, her character went through hell and it's very apparent in the video how much she's changed to broken to somewhat balanced

As an Ochaco main, she’s still extremely good. Especially with her gamma, you can get some nasty asf combos with it. Also, her Honda civic is still decent, even with that insane hit box nerf.
Yeah I realized playing her again today those gamma combos be hitting hard especially when you have teammates to capitalize off them

I’d say the most common reason played her was for the car. Super simple to use and hit box was great. With this smaller hit box getting closer to who she needs to hit can be fatal. Ibara could one shot her with that gamma

A good tip is to leave the camera movement off, so your camera doesn't move crazy when you activate plus ultra and you don't lose sight of your opponent.

Ochaco is by no means a weak character. As a top 100 player on Xbox(rank 47) she is still strong it’s just that lots of people rely on her car too much. Unfortunately they nerfed the beta a little too much, too where it’s useless unless maxed, but it forces people to use her other moves, so in a way ig it’s pro and con. And sorry for the paragraph lol
Yeah the Spin2Win tactic is dead, but I’ve always preferred her gamma combos more their just so satisfying

character idea 8: nejire hado
class: assault
speed= Cementoss
jump height= Uraraka
melee: two punches followed by a 1 spin, wile she's spinning she lets out little energy rays from her hands, 3rd hit hits all around her
alpha: energy wave out level 30: shoots a series (5) of slow moving energy circles from her hand with a single press , although slow if the opponent gets hit from the first circle, they get stuck in hit stun and have to take all the shots
ammo: 4 at lvl 1,6 at lvl 4 and 8 at lvl 9
damage: 20 per circle at lvl 1 and 40 per circle at level 9
beta: energy wave out put level 100: meter based, continuously fires waves of energy from both hands. Can slowly change direction and can cancel by not holding the button, once she runs out of meter, she is unable to move unless someone hits her or 5 seconds pass on all levels
ammo: lasts 5 second at lvl 1 and 10 seconds at lvl 9
damage: 20 damage per wave at lvl 1 and 40 at lvl 9
gamma: rising kick, shoots energy from her hands pushing her in wat ever direction you are aiming to deliver a multi hit kick. unlike mount lady's, she hits up and down and travels further but slower if she hits someone.
ammo:1 at lvl 1 and 2 at lvl 9
damage from her hand: 5 per ray, from her kick= 50 all together
special action: rise and flight, slowest flight in the game, but goes for waay longer, around 3 times as much as endeavors, reloads faster as well. hold b to go higher and use more meter

In my honest opinion, I think she's still a strong character. It would just mean having to use more skill to get a good down with her, like with Assault Midoriya to me at least. Though I do think they nerfed her harder than she needed to be. Just my opinion. She's still a good character and I still put her above C tier, but you can definitely see she plays different.

The thing is I think she she is the worst but not because she's bad, rather it's because Iida and Froppy are much easier to use and and get crazy damage off, while Uraraka can get high damage with her gamma combo it requires more skill/precision than the previously mentioned characters, and also because the way people play this game don't cater to her strengths as a team player.
Her Gamma at level 9 not only does great damage on its own but also reloads crazy fast, if you were teamed up with players you actually work together with everyone can get value out of her gamma together by attacking the floated enemies, but most people play this game like they are solo and only seek help when theyre almost dead. Plus you can get more value out of Kamenari's stun than her float and much easier too.
Yeah the ease of use for Iida and Froppy definitely lowers her standing in that class. Next time I play her I’ll give upgrading the gamma first to 9 a go and see how I like it

It builds up over time but you get a big boost to the meter when your teammates die
