im glad you were able to come here and enjoy it (just like how i hope one day to go and see the NYC Subway in person) :D i think people should see them while they still run, i think they'll be in service by 2030. im not entirely sure though.
Good Video. However, BM4 will not replace IVA. BM4 is meant to be operated on M5. The IVA trains will still remain in operation for a few more years. They will be replaced by BM5.
they do look like BART a little if i think about it, but according to the (late) Octavian Udriște, they were mostly inspired by the Vienna U-Bahn (subway) cars built in the 1970s by SGP. the prototype even had that type of seat configuration untill all BM1s were retrofitted with longitudinal seats only.
In Prague, there should be the type ČKD R1, but due to communist friendship, the order was changed to Metrovagonmash Ečs. R1 was built in 1970 and 1971 and if you compare it with Astra IVA, it look like an older copy. Probably the engineers in Astra got inspired by R1.
The station is clean, the floors are clean, what are you talking about? They probably save money and have less service delays than taking a train out of service for graffiti. Just clean the windows when brought to the yard as simple as that. Also during the NYC time there was financial and fiscal crisis (poor management, and other economic changes) that let system be run down. It wasn't just graffiti but infrastructure which we're still dealing with to this day causing delays among other things
nowhere near buddy, in europe they take graffiti seriously and love it but still don’t go out recklessly committing crimes. NYC subway trains are graffiti-proof but it’s still dirty asf and Robbery/assault is a daily experience maybe a murder once every few years but the amount of stuff i see in one trip is crazy. Only other metro system that’s nearly as dangerous is BART and LA Metro
@@odemata87 plus, the graffiti artists prefer the older trains cus, in their view, they have character. they dont like the new trains cus they feel so "sterile" (they have a point), and most stations are clean cus they're fairly new anyway (opened 2000-2017 for line M4). in general i've found Italy to be way worse with the graffiti issue...

Glad you enjoyed the video! The Astra IVAs are an incredible fleet of rolling stock. Hope you can make it to NYC soon! :)

Also these cars are longer and wider than Metrovagonmash 81-717/714, as the entire system was built with its own loading gauge
very good video and i appreciate that you did good research (everything you said is on point).
Say what you wish. I think it looks awesome…
They actually designed these cars with a similar BART shape to them…
To be clear, we LOVE these cars and the entire aura of the system.
Good point about the fact that these cars were inspired by BART.

07:58 I can feel that specific smell from the train just by watching this part
Perfect for video game development and music videos. 👍😎
True
Perfekt für einen Umschlagplatz so we can filter out the idiots who think that communal vehicles are private canvases.

i wouldnt be surprised about that either. its a shame Prague never got the R1, but hey, cant upset the "bigger brother" (USSR)...
I rarely see these sets when i use the Metro. Although some station look rather clean, some need a small overhaul overhaul
It appears that they are mainly used on line M4, with an occasional set running on line M3.
msero owns this system. true metro king bucharest has been lucky to have him
The graffiti is eerily similar to the NYC subway from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Very ugly.
How i would be amazed to walk down into the tunnels with the graffiti guys. And see how crazy it is... Communist Era. Hardcore
That’s a lot of graffiti on these trains that’s looks shocking
Wow. Graffity reigns.😀👍👌
More worse than the New York City subway
No NYCT in the 80s were worse

Did you leave your tag?
well it's a disaster over there in Romania it's like we're back in the 80s with the New York subway with all the graffiti
☝️❤️❤️❤️
Not a fan of that disgusting graffiti!
