      For gold the cheapest and most reliable still is the acid test. I use the key tester when doing a lot of pieces it is close to the real result and does not loose calibration for silver 18k gold acid is the best way

    Your review was flawed in many ways. Did you read the instruction manual or even go to the GemOro you tube video to see the instructions. 1. You didn't calibrate the tester twice. 2. You didn't file the part of the gold that is to lay flat on the surface. 3. Your probe pen tip was black, dirty and contaminated . 4. You didn't swipe the probe tip on a clean cloth/paper towel after each test. 5. Saline solution in the probe is not a mild acid it is in the prope for safe electrical contact. If it was an acid as you stated it would have come with an SDS sheet stating that fact. I am not an advocate for this machine or the company but I do have a GemOro AuRacle AGT1 Plus Deluxe Kit and it works great. Your review was very elementary and comical.

  • @vancekessler7139
    @vancekessler7139 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The tester is fine. Ive watched you make many mistakes and it is unfortunate that you are publicly and incorrectly demonstrating tests and calling it garbage. Had you just called the manufacturer for help or read the manual, you would have learned a great deal of information. The Testerossa by gemoro is not a lab grown diamond tester and has never been advertised as such, yet you trash talked it. Here are your many mistakes.
    Pen probe sat for 3 minutes drying out before your first calibration and was often held tip-up which I would avoid.
    Calibration needs to occur every few tests. Calibration disk was fine. Calibration is used to calibrate to the new conditions of the pen probe TIP. As you test more lower karat, your pen picks up more impurities and it needs to be recalibrated. As you test more higher karat / softer gold, you need to calibrate often. Please realize that your pen probe picked up those particles during tests and needs to be recalibrated to the new conditions of the pen probe.
    Anything inside the 14k bracket is considered 14k. The test was complete within the first 2 seconds..leaving the probe in contact waiting for it to change is not proper testing. If it falls below 14k, you should be skeptical of lower karat present. No piece is homogeneous except for 24k so test in multiple places.
    22k represents very little impurity and impurities are exactly what this tester is searching for. You must always calibrate directly before testing a 22k marked item, and definitely not after testing a dozen plus items without calibrating.
    Always calibrate directly before testing any 24k marked piece as well.
    I’ll send you a newer model AGT3 for free if you take down this video. The AGT3 will also calibrate with an 18k piece helping the accuracy of the 22k testing ability.
    I would also highly recommend that you calibrate directly before anything not produced in the United States. Other countries sometimes put more nickel or other alloys in their compositions that the US would otherwise not use in manufacturing.
