I think this is excellent, Freya. You are the only online vocal coach I trust. (I am 71 and have been singing since I was 16). I know singers who have "channel-surfed" YT for vocal coaches, and have made their voices worse by doing so, because there is so much misinformation out there. Thank you, Freya, for being the vocal coach we can TRUST.

I, enjoy listening to your comments and advice. I studied voice for 6 years and the University I was attending could not secure a licensed Music degree. Newly married I needed a job ASAP and switched to English. Fast forward 30 years, I am now getting back into signing. I have been watching your channel and feel like you understand exactly what I need to do and where I need to be. Thank you

Thank you for this video. I moved to a new city and the whole process was really stressful + my lifestyle hanged rapidly, I stopped eating well, hydrating regularly and talking for 10h a day (and more) at my work, meeting new ppl and singing wiyh my new band.. Of course my voice suffered and now I'm on my way of recovery. Those tips are just perfect!

I have just found your channel and i’m absolutely captivated by you as a vocal coach and as a person. You seem so mellow and not intimidating at all. You’re so helpful and wise! 😊

Thank you for another great video, Freya. You're so right about the benefits of a vocal coach - there's always something that can use a tweak to make for a better performance. Your comment about being consistent is so timely as well. I hit a plateau about a month ago and was about to pack it in but sure enough, I came back to it and actually feel like I got better for taking the time to just rest and reflect for a bit.

Some good points here, and regarding diet etc, I think it is a good idea to keep a diary. I always take great care with my diet. Also, I have never smoked and I don't drink alcohol, or sugary drinks, and don't eat processed foods. I do eat diary, but not every day, and some days never. I totally agree about singing different genres, which I do, but not "true or modern day pop" because it it just does NOT suit my voice. I do sing what I describe as "easy listening pop". I am a crossover singer, so I think that explains! Wonderful video. THANK YOU.

Since my channel was hacked, not all videos have been set back to published. I've just made the advanced soprano video available again: th-cam.com/video/AUIlcghBthk/w-d-xo.html

I want to know how to hit the actual note. I can do all the exercises in the world but I am just learning to sing off pitch, and I am good at that. How do you hit the note?

Are you able to take me on as a student. I’ve been a singer since I was a very young child. I’ve had voice lessons. My dream was always to be a singer but my mom told me that I will not make it in the music industry because you have to know someone. I am old now and I’m afraid I may have lost my voice but it wasn’t long ago, only a few years ago, I could sing. I know that I don’t drink enough and I had to ask my Dr why my ears are always so blocked. I can’t even talk when that happens. I was so scared because I definitely couldn’t sing. He said it’s post nasal drip. I worried about this forever and if I had a coach, they would have picked it up right away. I definitely need help
