Great informative video Josh. I’m very selective when buying RM coins. But they have been getting really negative press lately so I may have to rethink that moving forwards. Cheers and happy stacking ✌🏻😊
Yes they are having a bit of a bad time at the moment but hopefully they change and adapt because ultimately I love the designs and products it’s just some things that let them down but I’m optimistic for the future. Thanks for watching georgie😊
I got an email from Royal Mint this morning with the really generous offer to buy back silver coins at (only) 96% of spot price.....this amazing and very tempting (not) offer is open until the end of June. Maybe they too have a crystal ball....
Personally, I wasn’t collecting that series, but I’d be well cheesed off , if I were😱. Recently, I’ve become a fan of 1 grammers, so that RM gold bar looks tempting 😍.
Yeah it’s very frustrating I’m no longer buying any proof coins from them. They are nice to own, if you want low premium 1 grammers then check out Tavex bullion it’s the cheapest I can find in assay and can be easily stored, also check out 1g lunar dragon by pamp lovely bar
Don't buy 1 grammers as you are paying way over the odds and you will only get spot price of gold at best when you sell. Also don't buy bars because they are not free of capital gains tax again when you sell.
Britannia is arguably the best flagship coin design out of all the mints, but it is such a shame that Royal Mint haven't introduced mintshield or something similar. I seem to have more luck with dodging the milk spots when ordering direct from the mint for some reason. Had a fair few "new" coins that have had milk spots from third party sellers.
Milk spot problem is not only a Royal Mint problem. Austrian Philharmonic have this problem too and pretty serious. Your opinion about Britannia gold coins? They are worth to buy?
I hear alot of people not happy with cancellations and the milk spot issue, I've not brought as the prices are out of my reach so always have brought else where, they do make some lovely pieces tho just Hope they can address their issues and maybe one day they will get back to doing what normally they was good at, awsome video josh, great to hear you on the stacker social yesterday it was a good chat, all the best mate 👍
Yeah they are super pricey in a lot of their items, I hope they sort their problems because they do make some great products. Glad you enjoyed the vid and stack chat mate, always good to be on it😊
No. Not worth buying directly from the U.S. Mint either. I’ve picked up a couple of nice pieces from the Royal Canadian Mint, easy for me because I live in the States. Besides regular Maples and their unique lunar series, I picked up an Extraordinarily High Relief $50 Year of the Dragon and most recently an Ultra High Relief 1 oz. Silver Maple Leaf that’s in the mail. I can’t deal directly with the Perth Mint but I always pick up their lunar series and Kookaburras in gold and silver, and a Kangaroo in gold. Last year when I pulled out the 14 sets of three 2023 silver Britannias I bought as Christmas gifts because of the historical significance, all were milk spotted, which left me scrambling for alternatives. I’m now beyond the Royal Mint, for me they have ceased to exist.
I really like the products from RCM and Perth, I find them to be really good quality. Shame about the Britannias you got, people spend a lot of money on them we expect them to be in good condition and not get the milk spots. Hopefully we see improvements
Sadly it appears that they don’t care. They’re caught in that space between a government and private company which often leads to really poor treatment of their customers. I’ll never start another series with them.
It's time to wake up....The government is a private company, so are all the police forces (policy enforcers), and all councils. The terms 'corporate Britain', 'UK Plc', and 'the family firm' are not just catch phrases. The population is nothing more than a corporate human resource - search 'meet your strawman'...slavery was abolished then two years later the birth certificate was introduced
I am getting concerned about the Tudor Beasts series. I don't have any Monarchs, but cancelling a series will put everyone off, forever. I am doing the Tudor Beasts, people do sets because they expect it to be complete. Absurd decision to kill the Monarch series, it's not like the Royal Mint went out of business, they just made a decision. This won't will turn out worse than they think.
You should support your countries mint but its not only milk spotting their quality control and delivery service is terrible just a small point i would like to make about stacker social i tried to join but with no luck it seems theirs a bit of a click their if your face dosent fit they wont let you in i made a comment once to a stacker very high up in the pecking order of the stacker social club and hes taken offence by it i thought giving my opinion was welcomed in the comments so on that note i would warn fellow stackers with these words Beware of A YEAR OF Ag
Yes I understand what you mean about the quality control and deliveries, Sorry to hear that if you would like to discuss anything about stacker social please feel free to speak with me directly but it’s a shame to hear that, it’s designed to be a welcoming group for stackers and collectors
@@macdonaldbullion Its only one stacker in the group that has a problem with me it seems unfair to be singled out by this person as i said Beware of A YEAR OF Ag thank you for your time sir

Great video buddy! I haven’t bought anything from the royal mint but hearing everything I have I don’t think I will unless it’s a crazy piece! 🤙🏼
Thank you very much Gordy. Yeah I’d say if you can try use other places😊

Yes, I’ve got a few Tavex bars already, best bang for your buck 🎉,and I’ve seen the Lunar Pamps, beautiful bars😍.
@@jamiefrost2091 they are lovely bars, I don’t get a discount on 1g gold other than the pamp bars with Tavex but they’re nice to own aswell😊

If you can afford 1oz gold Britannias then absolutely

Milk Spot = Total Boycott of Royal Mint for me ! Canada Mint has fixed their problems, they can too, it is their choice not to do it

My proof coin milk spot from them which was incredibly frustrating😔

Yeah Atkinsons is a great company, I use them 👍🏻
