  • As part of our planting studies this year, we're testing more closing systems than we've ever tested before to measure performance, and we're giving you a look behind-the-scenes in today's episode.

    Great video, any results to compare?

    I am interested in the outcomes of this trial - can you please advise where the video results are?

    For those of us in rocky conditions we need something to keep rocks out of the furrow force. It needs a way to ride up over a rock so I won’t get caught between the disks. The rock guard will push them or the disks catch them and plow dirt which plugs the speed tubes. It gets frustrating after a while.

      We have very few rocks but still get a few stuck so I can understand your frustration. I see the case has a similar closing unit but I've never heard of rock problems. I wonder if it would be a better option.

      @@joelhayes4085 it’s on a case planter. We have a 15” 1245 we plant beans with and had the same 1255 24 row but with all the factory components. Never had issues. We bought a 24 row with everything precision on it. It’s a far better system for most conditions. Just gets old collecting stones. We no-till into some hard ground and it’s truly amazing how good the stand will be

      @@warnerlind8520 so what your saying is the standard case closing system even though it looks similar isn't as good? I can believe it. The precision one is amazing

      @@joelhayes4085 I believe the newer 21 series planter with the air cylinder on the closing disk is close. The 12 series planter aren’t as good in no till as the newer version. But they don’t collect rocks so they win on that point.

      We have Marten spiked closing wheels that came on our 7300 johndeer planter
      We found in Sloan express I think a triangle shaped guard that bolts right into the area between the wheels that keeps the rocks out.for us it has worked great and we have rocks
      Good luck

    Everyone always talks hours but corn grows on GDU’s. I would love to see a study based on GDU’s because not everyone receives the same growth in 24 hours. Just curious if there would be a difference.

    Проблема в том, что" Precision Planting" устраняет не причину, а её последствия 😁
    The problem is that "Precision Planting" does not eliminate the cause, but its consequences 😁

    Do you have data to compare each of these closing systems to one another?

  • @fredjones6333
    @fredjones6333 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So a total yeild loss at 48 hours? Your data suggests a 200 bushel yeild going to a 20 bushel yeild. That's a flat-out lie.
