You can empty the stamina of the rhynio picking you by hitting him with the special attack on stegos, it immediately let you go once its at 0 stamina, it was a huge game changer for me when i knew about it, you can literally kill people rhynio so quickly with it since they cant really regen stamina for some seconds, they will also not unmount sometimes and takes fall damage, so it's easier to kill.
