    My wife and I ended up buying one. This is my first "real" (none toy type) drone. One thing I have made note of is that with the blade guards in place you can't fold the arms (maybe most drones are like that) so therefore you can't put it in the display case with the guards on. Otherwise it was fairly easy even for a noob like me to setup the camera and wifi. It's not a great indoor camera, but it doesn't do too bad outside. I need to get it outside and spend some time getting used to it in a large obstacle free space. Inside we've got too many things that seem to mess with the optical flow height stabilization. Hopefully it should be a fun little 30 dollar drone. William C. central Indiana.

      Was it any better outside?

    • @Bionicycle
      @Bionicycle ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFreakShow-lw3yk Between the weather and my lower back deciding to go out severely, I haven't had a chance to actually fly it outside yet. The first day I had set up the camera to my phone I took it around the house and outside and compared the video and it did seem to do better in brighter light (outside), but that's not the same as flying it so I can't really say for sure at this time.

    • @ckshene7212
      @ckshene7212 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFreakShow-lw3yk NO! The drone could not move a bit and even moved backward in gentle breeze. Moreover, the app seems to be not so good. The virtual sticks did not work well, if you use the take-off icon in the app (lower left corner) to take off, you could not control the drone with sticks. (I could only move the drone backward with the right virtual stick!) I found I have to use the controller to take off and start recording before entering the app. Video quality appears to be acceptable but not great. In indoors flying, it is rather good even with the prop guards installed; however, it is not as stable as the DJI/Ryze Tello. Of course, the Tello with a game controller could cost you three times more than this little thing. I personally still prefer fly the Tello.

    • @BMM8621
      @BMM8621 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ckshene7212 it depends on the weather. For me, a slight gust of wind moved it slightly, but it easily powered through with a little bit of manual stabilization. After all, you can’t get excellent wind resistance unless you are willing to pay more. For the price, the H111 is pretty remarkable.

    You're right about roof inspections with that drone. It's not great but maybe for looking over a fence or checking something up high it's better than nothing. I think it's worth the $30 even if you only use it as a toy. Thanks for the great review!

    I think it's pretty impressive that a feature like optical flow stabilization is so common in cheap drones. Back in the day you'd be lucky to find something like that in super expensive professional grade drones. Now you can get a little toy drone and it comes with optical flow built in. I'd actually love to see optical flow built into flight controller boards. Just build your drone, hook up a small camera to the optical flow input and the flight controller would do the rest.

For me I would consider it as a toy, a little similar to the Tello, but Tello has a better quality.

They would be better off getting these, getting used to drones, and then upgrade for something to film their travels. 'normal' people also spend way too much, they spend bank on a drone and then it sits. They should get these and then if they like it get something more expensive.

    I received my H111 today, 16 days delivered from China. Sadly the drone flies backwards at full speed by itself after doing any 2 stick maneuvers like yaw and roll into a turn. Once it goes rogue it's almost impossible to fly until it crashes. I think I got a dud, or it was damaged in shipping.
    I'm communicating with bangood. I sent them a picture of the smashed display case but that wasn't "clear enough". They are now making me film the malfunction and upload it to TH-cam. It's a bit ridiculous and I feel like they are stringing me along.
    Hopefully I can get this resolved and get a replacement because it's really fun to fly and controls great before the malfunction happens. Replacement parts are also readily available on the same website and very reasonably priced.

    JJRC H12C I think, was the toy grade, "quadcopter": of choice, a decade ago, they were cheap, simple, light, fun to fly and modify, but also could be used for roof inspections with diy AOI camera video recorder and transmitter, or traditional FPV. BTW, I don't use the word "drone" loosely because a drone is something that is stealth to spy and can carry weapons. I never like WIFI control, why? because it is intrusive technology, the fact you need to download an app to operate it and it probably stores all your videos to a cloud is not something I consider private. Enough that we have cell phone on this technology PC, and other devices that are on full monitor all the time is enough for me, but I prefer old fashion RC control.

      More accurately a 'drone' is any unmanned aircraft with an auto-pilot of some sophistication. So if your quadcopter, coax, 6 axis single rotor, or fixed-wing R/C aircraft and fly it's own GPS path even if it lacks cameras, it's a drone.
      These are not really drones by that definition of course, but most folks wouldn't know what a Quadcopter is...

It's hard for us drone owners to appreciate these little cheap flyers.. For someone who has never ever flown a drone though. 30$ is pretty good. Brushless motors and prop guards. I think it a cool little budget drone for complete newbies. Us older folk are spoiled with Mavic 3's and minis. It's pretty good tech for someone who has never flown a drone. Once they try a gps/obstacle avoiding drone though..lol. Game changer. Can't beat 30 bucks!

    The photo quality ain’t good enough. I’m looking for a VERY GOOD quality 1080p camera drone. I don’t need 4k. Any suggestions?

    What would be a small and light step up from this like the 50-80 range?

    Have you ever wondered why artificial cheese is called “cheese food?” It’s because they feel that they have to remind you that it’s really food and you can actually eat it. So I get a little nervous when I see the word “Drone” printed on the side of a quadcopter.

Luckily it will be here in a couple weeks, now where to find more batteries for it? it looks interesting, and to be honest, i like the color. :) Hoping it works out. Looks good, tnx.

    How you get 4K video? Open a calculator and type 2^2 x 10^3 and record the result with a 90s' webcam. Then you can get 4K video.
