Thank you so much for ur videos, they've been of immense help! I will be a first year in Computer Engineering at Tuks this yr and bingeing your videos before Uni starts has helped me tons!
Your campus journey has been so explorational, educative, encouraging etc,to me man,I learnt and related a lot of your experience at Degree as i went through my diploma in computer engineering at KYU,i recently presented my final year project too and will be graduating in December 2022,congratulations upon finishing up and thanks for your motivation💪
All the best with your final year Mitch, I myself am doing my final for electrical so looking forward to final year project but it's defintely gonna be a tough one. May God pull us through this year, onward and upward💪
Love the honestly in you bro🤞the fact that you mentioned you failed but still trying to complete your qualification 👌and looking forward to the future. We tired of these influences who are faking life so big ups bro✌️
I have been truly inspired by your videos, definitely encouraging me to pick up University again. Do you have any tips for anyone taking computer engineering as a hobby/passion to studying it at university? Maths seems the most intimidating but I don't know if there are any textbooks/tips to read up on to get up to scratch
Hey Mitch! So when you apply for internships, is it necessary to be proficient in some languages and maybe a bit of web dev, or you just learn on the go while working in case they approve you ? I'm doing second year in Comp Eng and my C++ is a bit shaky, with just a beginner knowledge in Java and Python, do you think this should be "enough" if I'm applying for internships ?
Depends on the company I guess. You're unlikely to get a position without something to show them - whether it be marketable skills or a portfolio if built projects so try get yourself a basic portfolio together. That's what I did. And just cast your net wide - had to apply to over 40+ places last year to get a position cause very few people want students - they want graduates. But good luck!
The E-mail about undergraduate classes resuming on campus is tantalizing but as you say in need of further clarification. Will the "in-person contact sessions" be limited to pracs or will at least some of those contact sessions be lectures presented in-person? If the lectures were given in a physical lecture hall but with a recorded instructor projected on a large screen that would be almost as desirable as an in-person presentation because at least you'd feel the value of being together in the same venue. Your commute reminds me of a nearly identical situation that I faced for a year, a daily 40 minute drive with no traffic and 2 hours with congestion. I remember that year with mixed feelings to this very day. The R140 for the train doesn't sound like a complete non-starter to me though because the cost of gas and your own personal stress as well as that of James need to be subtracted from the nominal cost of train travel to make a reasonable comparison.
Really enjoy all your videos. Third year computer engineering now, so would love to hear if you have any tips, any modules I should really focus on... that kind of thing ?
Hi Mitch where can electricals(wits) get software dev vac work. I'm Proficient in C++ and avr assembly. Also would like to you to do a video on grad programs and engineers in corporate.
Hey mitch I hv a question here... Do you think it's okay for someone getting level 5 on mathematics and physical science to study computer engineering 🤔 at tuks
Not Mitch, but I don't think it's possible. From what I recall, you HAVE to have at least a 6 in maths, but that may have changed. Not too sure 'bout physics tho'
You definitely can do it through the Engineering engage program which is a 5 year course instead of 4. Go check out the engage program at Tuks for more info
Bro I've been with you from the start.. From the moving in day to here where we are now.. Love it man!!! Can't wait for that graduation video!
Thanks for the longtime support! I am very keen for that video

Hello~ Civil Engineering student here watching!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it :)

Look on YT for tutorials and besides that get yourself a Udemy course for coding and KhanAcademy for the Calculuses. :)

Google jobs and your university's career services. That's where I started. ;)
Why don't you guys use the Gautrain?
Because it's cheaper to drive with two people. To Sandton and back each day = R140.
Oh okay that makes sense.
Its my final year in mechanical engineering
Good luck!
If u still jave all your 1st year books i am interested in buying those booms
Didn't buy any physical books in first year
Hey Mitch, how did you get Vac work?
I've been struggling to even find openings on the internet
Had some contacts. ;) Look through your varsity's job page/opportunities

You can probably do it maybe through the engage program but you will suffer through the maths throughout all the years
Had to show the 🍎 logo
