I'm so glad that you enjoyed getting some stitching done during the visit! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a lovely comment. Have a wonderful week!🪡
Thanks for keeping me company while I stitched! Also, thank you for the mention! You do such amazing finishing. I'm trying to achieve that flattened pillow finish as well. Yours looked good! Love the Carolyn Manning finish and WIP.
You're so welcome for the mention. I enjoy watching you and seeing what you're working on! I do hope the time you spent watching was time well spent. I can't tell you how fun I find the crazy quilt cross stitch blocks. Thank you for watching and commenting! Have a wonderful week.
So good to stitch and catch up with you this afternoon. You've done a lot! Great finishing and projects! I meet up with several stitchy friends once a month, but we are not affiliated with anyone or any shop. We just have a standing date- 3rd Tuesday of every month for lunch and a couple of hours of stitching. Hope you find a group to hang out and stitch with!
Thank you for spending some time with me! The lunch dates with stitchy friends sounds like fun. I have known a lady in TN online for 15 years and the time I was in her area she was hit with a fibromyalgia flare up, so we didn't get to meet. However, when we were looking to move up there she was really wanting me to move close so we could get together often for stitching. I'd love to have a stitching friend meetup like that.
Great finishes! You know I'm partial to the BHO's - big honkin' ornaments :D. The Christmas Cookies stitch is super cute. I think your dogs head is as big as our Libby! So cute.💖🐕
It is a BHO, but they seem to be in style?! Kodak's paw may be as big as Libby 😄 not quite, but he is huge. He's the best boy, ever, though! Thank you for allowing me to take up some of your time! I know you don't want to be frantically busy, but I've kept you in prayer for your long arming business to take flight and provide for you all. ♥️
Thanks for the shout out! I like your idea of putting a cabin, instead of the boat. I have two needlework shops near me, that have open stitch times. Also, a senior center that has Stitch Therapy on Mondays. It's a mix of wool applique, quilting, stitching, knitting, etc.
@@PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts you're welcome! It's awesome that you have several options for stitch groups. There's a small senior center not very far from me. I should give them a call to see if they have any sewing/stitching groups and if non-seniors would be welcome. 😄 Thanks for the idea, as well as watching and commenting!
Really enjoyed your video, my friend! I'm all ready to start our little hummingbird. :) You have such beautiful work - I was particularly impressed with your monthly cross stitched quilt pieces - so cute! And also the wool piece - I think that looks awesome. About the stitchy group - At the end of last year, beginning of this one, a stitcher commented on my comment on a piece I had "me pls" and given my zipcode. Turns out, she lives about 5 min from me. Next thing, we decided to get together sometime and stitch. Then someone else contacted me from one of my comments in a different group, and she lived close to me as well. So - fast forward - we decided to start our own little group. I made arrangements at our local library and we meet once a month. We've had 3 mtgs so far and have grown to 4 members now, with a possible 5th. I love it! But we have decided to keep it no larger than 8-10 people, so we don't advertise it. Our meeting space is quite small and we all like the intimacy of just a few of us together. We don't call ourselves anything, just a stitchy group. I think you should go for it, but I'm not so sure about the name. It's cute, but it could put some folks off. Anyway - let me know what you decide to do. Steph
That's great that you've made connections with local stitchers, especially one living only a few minutes away! I'd prefer a group less than 20 people, but I don't even know if I'd be able to get a group of 10 together. 😄 It may need to be "advertised" as any type of needle working group. The closest library's website shows one room is available for events, but doesn't include anymore details. I'll have to drop in and talk to someone in person, most likely. It's good to hear your experience with it. Thank you, as always, for watching! I hope you have a delightful afternoon! 😊
I'm working on 13 birthday starts counting down to my actual birthday. Today I started The Bird Keeper, which was a unicorn chart, a friend let me borrow to make a working copy. The chart is nice and clear!
@@rebeccajourney3183 Hi Rebecca! Thank you for taking the time to drop a comment. ❤️Happy upcoming birthday! 🎂 I had to look up The Bird Keeper. Is that a woman with her skirt as a bird cage? If so, I don't think I have seen it before. What a sweet friend to let you borrow an OOP chart!
Thank you so much for the lovely shoutout! ❤❤ I absolutely adore all of your finishes, you are a wonderful finisher! And your background with all the pretty sunflowers is gorgeous 😍 To answer your question, I unfortunately don’t have a local stitch group. I’m in the Facebook stitching group for my state and all the meetups are well over an hour away from me. The consequences of being so rural I guess 😢
You're very welcome! I understand being in the rural area. A viewer contacted me that's part of a MS state group, but their meetings are approximately 2.5 hours from here. We are talking about just a couple of us meeting at a location an hour from me, but that can only happen once every few months for me. There are various Internet zoom stitch meets, but that's really not my thing. What are your thoughts on those? When we lived in Alaska there was a very small cross stitch shop that had stitch meets now and then, but I never went because my kids were all very young. It'd be nice to get together with people that enjoy the same things.
I have a knit group that meets 2 hours at a Publix lunch room. (Also called Knitty Witty Hookers.) I did belong to a group at church but stopped during the pandemic. I will go back in October. Our YMCA also has a crafting group once a month.
An awesome video! All of your finishes are so beautiful and after seeing your WIPs my “wish to stitch” list has grown😉 Can you remind me of the name of the chart you will be stitching inside the sheep virtue piece? We have a local stitch group that meets twice a month, Marlene and I try to go at least once each month. Thank you for mentioning our channel and for taking time from stitching to film a Flosstube! Happy stitching.
It means a lot that you like what I have to share! You are fortunate to have a steady stitching buddy even if not going to stitch group. That's really special, and moreso that your other sisters stitch, also. The middle chart I plan to stitch in the middle of Little Sheep Virtues is Country Cottage Needleworks "Sheep In The Meadow." I haven't decided if I'll be changing any colors in it yet. Thank you for taking the time to watch while you're vacationing! 😊
Love all your FFO's!! You are a very fast stitcher! My brain says things wrong even when I'm not on camera. It's called meno brain!😂 I have a local stitch group that I belong to and that's how I made friends that I meet up with outside of stitching. The lady who runs it posted her Facebook group on other stitching related stitch groups to advertise initially. She rents a room at a community center to keep the costs down for everyone. We all bring something for potluck. It's really fun. She does them quarterly. I know of another one that is weekly at a local library but it's when I'm working. I highly recommend them. BTW I love the name hookers and stabbers. Hilarious!! I would totally keep it!😂😂
If your group consists of the amount of people I saw in the wool applique, plus some, that's a decent sized group. Do you pay membership, since the "organizer" rents a space? That group also appeared to consist of similarly aged women. I'm fairly certain there would be mostly retirees if anyone showed up for a local group, which I don't mind, most of my friends are older, but ya know, sometimes it'd be nice to make friends from the same decade. You seem too young for meno brain 🤨, but that may be part of my problem 😂 I quite like the Hookers & Stabbers name, but I don't think it would go over well in this location. 😂🤣 Thank you once again for tuning in and leaving a comment. 💕
@StitchyWendy the applique group is a friend group that spun off of the group that meets at the community center. There are about 50 people that go to that group and yes, it's mostly retirees. We only meet quarterly but it's a good avenue to meet friends and then have mini groups meet. There are about a dozen or so in their 30's/40's. We pay $12 a session to cover the cost of the rental. It's canada, so not sure if there is subsidy involved and that's why it's more affordable. You could also look at starting a group at your local church, if you are a part of a church. You won't have a fee, normally, to use the building and maybe you can coax more people to start stitching. Cross Stitch seems to be a dying art among younger people but I still think it resonates with 30-40 age group. I get wanting to create friendships with people in your own cohort. I have learned a lot from the senior ladies in the group also. I'm actually in my late 40's so I think that's the start of meno brain. It's definitely the start of something. 🤣🤣 Good luck with starting your new group!
@@luckychancestitcherwe're the same age, pushing 50 and are definitely getting there and may be experiencing all of the occasional symptoms and "personal summers" as I heard one lady say. 😂 I attributed the forgetfulness and mixing up words as part of mommy brain, and I'm afraid that won't ever leave. Hahaha The fee you're paying seems minimal. The last I asked in our community group, there weren't any people that commented any interest. I may try again, but I should have tried prior to summer, when I, personally, would prefer to be indoors in the AC. The last I knew, our church only loaned rooms for Bible small group gatherings and receptions. A viewer contacted me about a state wide cross stitch group, but their meetings have been 2.5 hrs away.
