    Thanks for the video. This is my "home" track and yes, I've made some (if not many) of the mistakes mentioned! It's a great facility and a ton of fun. Next date with COTA is at the end of November with Chin and I can hardly wait.

    First time watching the Simpit and I've got to say that I'm impressed, very informative piece

    Ver good guide. COTA is very different for cars with aero verses cars without aero. The 3-4-5-6-7 curves are much harder without aero.

    These are such great videos when deciding which track to learn next, and in general. Shame there aren't more of them, at least I couldn't find any. Please make more!

    I’m just an average guy, but I did the BMW M track at COTA as well as many other tracks. And I love COTA.

    Excellent video, I would like to point out that in turn 8 you need to be very far right to pick up speed at 9, which you have to be very far on the left side, otherwise you’re going to find you wind up in the runoff area. I would also like to point out that 9 is a blind turn and I call it the Alan McNish turn, during WEC he came over the top of 9 and found himself stuck behind a car, instead of slowing down he hit the turtle (massive apex bump) and his car jumped about 3 feet in the air. I would also like to point out that this track has 3 distinct sections, a very technical section, a setup section (engineering section) and a drivers section. To me this is one of the most technical tracks in the world and has super evil parts which makes things hard for engineering. Like you said, many engineering and setup differences, so get it right and you can go fast, get it wrong and you suffer.

      Also, turns 3,4, and 5. You can flat out, except when approaching 5, then you can downshift while accelerating. I hope that makes sense

    Thanks Shaun. May I suggest adding a throttle, brake and steering angle graphic to your replay especially the last lap of your video. Also, some discussion of brake markers and turn in markers would be useful.

    This looks like a really tough track. Still not sure whether to buy this track or not for the Winter Series when it comes.
    Thanks for the video though.

    Thanks Shaun again I'll have to try and Do Things different, hummm. I can't get this type of speed out of my car's (Corvette's & Gt3's & I know they Won't be as fast as the F1 car's) Turns 8-10 is killing me and Turn 18 IF I get over to the RED part I get an 0FF Track there?? I'll just have't practice alot more with these car's and this Track. I Appreciate Your Knowledge of the Car's & Track's and Helping Us, Thanks again... = )

    thanks Sean , gets a tad confusing , would be best to show cockpit cam from very beginning of track and simply pause whilst explaining turn by turn / part by part
    -cheers anyhow

    It’s gonna be interesting to see what NASCAR can do since they are gonna race here in 21

    note turn 5. for me anyway you take turn 5 wrong you should be attacking that turn as much as possible. because every bit more speed you carry would = more air flow over the car. more air flowing over the car = more grip. so you can carry that speed down to turn 11.

    • @mynamedoesnotmatter8783
      @mynamedoesnotmatter8783 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      as well as turn 15 you didn't open the turn as much as possible. and by opening the turn you carry more speed out. giving more air flow and more grip when taking turn 17 and 18

      +Brendon leigh Are you kidding me? You have to back off a little on 5 so you take 6 perfectly. If you push on 5, you will push out, when you want to be turning in for 6, because if you overdo 6 you won't be taking 7 correctly, and if you don't take 7 correctly, it will mess up 8 and 9, which is vital to get any speed before 10. Brendon, why don't you look up Shaun's laps (or mine) at COTA, with the same car you've driven there. If your lap times are faster than our's, then I'll shut up about it. If not, I would reconsider those comments if I were you. Oh, and take a screen shot of those lap times.

    Describing the obvious is not what an instructional video should be about. Why don't you talk about breaking zones, strategies and other helpful info? I am an American but you have a lot to learn from the Brits as far as instruction. Ie driver 61.

    the most boring track to drive or watch races

    • @ZBTEproductions
      @ZBTEproductions 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Backofthefield I could not disagree with you more. It's such a thrill to drive, noting the esses and Sector 3 as both fun and challening sections to drive, and Turn 1 and 12 can provide some fantastic moves.

      @Aj85234480 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +ZBTEproductions ... I second your opinion.
      It is my favorite track to drive.
      It is a very technical track that you really have to maneuver your way through it, to get that perfect lap. When you do get it right, it is very gratifying.
      One of the best tracks to attend in person and also shows great on TV.
      For as much bad critiques as Herman Tilke gets, I really like his tracks. Especially COTA.
