I find it funny that these same analysts talked about how Caleb Williams was going to do well in this same offense that Justin fields was in. It's the same offensive line that protected Fields, the same offensive coordinator, the same head coach. It proves that the nfl has a development problem. To many qbs are wasted the age of 23 because you don't want too build around them or hired coaches that can take the talent to the next level
The pressure to play qbs before they are ready is immense. This ruins coaching careers as well as young quarterbacks. Fans pressure. Media pressures even more. Also, qbs have their value so enhanced by the difficulty of the position that most 2cd rounders and some 3rd rounders are picked in the 1st round. Bryce Young should have had a 3rd round grade, mid 2cd at best, but Alabama increased his value to the number 1 pick. Crazy. Richardson should have gone in the 3rd round. As a 3rd rounder, he would be comfortably learning as a backup. A smart team with a veteran qb should pick up Levis this off season and teach him their offense to the point that he is expert in it behind the starter and the coordinator. Bring the mental part of his game in line with the physical and watch him flourish in 2027. The Rams, for example. Dallas, but I'm not sure of their culture. Just tanking to get high draft picks for a 50% chance of success seems stupid to me. Anyhow...I think we pretty much agree on this. Have the best day.
