Scotland's St Kilda - exploring the lost world of the UK's remotest landscape

  • St Kilda, in Scotland is the UK's remotest landscape, a volcanic island 40 miles passed the Outer Hebrides. It was home to a constant community for 4000 years, until the residents gave up their life there in 1930. It had become too difficult to live on an island where the wind speed reached 180 mph in the winter months, and food was scarce.
This is a short film about the island , showing footage and photographs from my adventure to capture the UK's remotest landscape.

Wow, thank you. I’ve done a Skye a good few times, Raasay and Lewis. Always wanted to go to St Kilda. That’s living what you’ve done here. Away from the nonsense

    lovely video :-)
if (and it's a big if) I'm still above ground when my wife retires in a few years, I harbour desires of upping sticks from here (S Wales) and moving to a remote Scottish Island.
    One day, one day...
