This one is a little different though. We are taking you through the entire install…the good, the bad, and the ugly.

At stingers site it says all you need.... but then lists an install kit sold separately
So not really all I need in one box.
Hey Rob, yes the HEIGH10 is a universal headunit, and then they sell the JEEP kit that adapts it to the wrangler.
It is 2 separate pieces.
And if you want the navigation to work without having to use your smart phone you need to spend an additional $180 on a micor SD card for a radio that you already spend over a grand to buy! My wife's Jeep came with one installed when we bought it, and we personally would not have bought it. A double din is a much more clean install in my opinion and for the price it should come with all the features working like the XM should already be built in not just ready for one, and the same goes for the navigation and the cameras.
Yeah, these days I think it makes more sense on the manufacturers end to do navigation this way.
Most people are using it through their phone, since updates happen automatically.
To have the navigation in the unit natively, there are licensing costs that have to be paid to the map provider by the manufacturer. On top of that, there are no automatic updates going this route. If you’ve had a vehicle with OEM navigation, you know what I mean. They become outdated quickly.
On Stinger's install video they show unplugging the U-Connect module and plugging that into the Stinger harness. My instructions don't show that step and neither do yours. Is that just for the vehicle integration kit?
That is if you’re doing the upgraded kit that does the vehicle info. That particular kit comes with a USB/HDMI that replaces the power port.
The adaptor at the uconnect module is to retain the OEM USB port in the center console for the 2nd USB in on the Heigh10.
The standard JK kit comes with a dual USB for the power port, so the adaptor isn’t needed.
Did you run into issues getting the guidelines to display in the rearview camera? If so how did you fix it?
Hey Walter, I don’t recall having any issues with that, but it’s possible that we we used lines that are built into the camera. I don’t recall if the Heigh10 has a guidelines setting in the unit.
Please help me! I have been fighting to get the screen to mount. The 4 screws on side don't line up with brackets. It's like the brackets don't come out enough. Any suggestions?
It can be tough, make sure you threaded the screws into the plastic part first.
You have to push harder than you think you should be.
I typically give it an initial “hard push” to compress the foam gasket some.
When you get it, you’ll feel the side pieces click in. You have to keep firm pressure as you get the screws started.

Another thing to note, make sure the passenger side dash (the air bag part) is clipped into the sub dash correctly. I see quite a few of these where there are some fitment issues with that part of the dash.
