    I’ve used very expensive industrial grizzly bar screens that work great. but that said, for a back yard diy screen I think you’ve done a good job of working within your means to accomplish your task. Great job!

    Great design. The springs make good sense.

    The springs and rebar is a good idea. The use of chain link fence is great - it's tough as hell. The wheels make it easy to use and move. Expanded metal would be tougher than welded wire, but if you screened it with the chain-link first, it might work okay. I've studied a bunch of these on YT and You did a damn good job.

    Сетка от "панцирной" кровати, может отсеевать даже мельчайшие камешки. Степень очистки регулируется углом к вертикали (достаточно подпереть двумя палками).
    Недостаток: ручное подбрасывание песка лопатой спереди.

    It looks like the screen slope is 50 degrees, did you ever figure what the slope is?
    The screen slope works really well and you do not loose much dirt flowing over the top of screen.

    I came up with something like yours. Works well. IMO, you'll get better results if you reduce the angle of the screen -- that is, more of the material you want will fall through the screen.

      i agree, depending on what i'm screening i can pile dirt under the front or back to change the angle a bit.

    How did you mount the springs, also what is the force - deflection value for the springs - thanks

    • @stevelovesoutdoors320

      Welded c channel over the round pipe to give me more flat surface top and bottom, then welded the springs to the c channel. I expected the weld to be brittle at the spring but so far everything has held up. Since the springs were scrap I have no idea what they came from so I cant even guess on the last part.

      One more question, I noticed the bottom set of springs are angled towards the screen a bit. I assume it is to counter the gravity force of the screen and frame. How did you choose the angle, by trial and error?

    • @stevelovesoutdoors320
      @stevelovesoutdoors320 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimslater9875 I'd say i got lucky but a lot of thought went into it before welding and honestly i had nothing to compare it to. the bottom springs are considerably stronger than the top too. I think its about right for the soil i'm sorting
