- Another day of practice, another personal best. Sorry for the repeated run, but this was too much of an improvement not to upload. I may push more for sub-5 minutes, but it will probably take quite some time. Stopping Kirin's limp is still hard to pull off when it has to be done 2 or 3 times.

Finally an arch-tempered kill that isn't just bashing them in the head with the great sword while they lay on the ground for 5 minutes. Nice.
This is freaking nuts.i was literally thinking ig/db would be the worst for this fight but here we have an ig pro showing us once again that any weapon can kill any monster if the player is good enough.
I only proceed to use IG, I’m a solo player, and I’m able to do every each monster with IG, what’s the matter about it ?

i do 15 min average against AT kirin and im still proud of it. Defeating AT kirin at any time is better than dying fast and losing for nothing

Simeon Spence Not really that amazing if you have health regen augmented into your weapon and know your damage. It's better to strike it while it is down heal off of your dps.

Out of curiosity why did you go for that glaive and not one like fire such as the Anjanath :) was it just because of the glaive's skills and attack?
White sharpness, blast, good raw(same as the Rathalos glaive), 10% affinity, a level 3 and a level 1 slot are the ones that would get to the top of my head
I made the Nergigante variant but I am considering rolling it back to change it into Xeno.

Because your cat attracts the attention of the monster, leading you to run after him (waste time) and mess up your combo or counter attack.
Specially this streamers are speedrunners(allthough it doesn't say in the title) and you need 100% the attention on you.

Umm have you played mh4u, it basically was just this.
The insect glaive was always a ground/buff weapon with aerial options, when world came around people switched it for some reason.

That last smack to the face was priceless. I killed my first one right after he smacked me on my ass, he ran just a few feet further and landed on my LBG mine. Solid gold run :D

What's the real reason for using the Styx? is it purely because of the Blast/Affinity/Razorsharp?
it's the white sharpness and sheer speed. If done well that IG is super powerful however, its complicated to use. The build is very important with this IG.

troyism people "fly all over kulve" because you can be the only melee to constantly dps her horns while also getting MOUNTS and picking up breaks. I can mount her in first and last area, and I've ko'd and killed her with my kinsect and flying attack. You don't understand glaive.
GlockPackinMofo what I'm saying is that most of the time they're not good glaive users. They don't get any of the power ups and die a lot too. Once in a while I'll encounter a good glaive user.
I dont have mh world but the fun part of the insect glaive is being able to fly all over so as long as they have fun Who Cares they Will get good eventually
That's fair. If people can't manage their buffs, and can't focus on the right parts, I can see how that could get frustrating. I love flying all over her face and getting as much horn damage as possible, while building the mount meter. Though lately I've been preferring a LBG against her.
behemoth event is near, and i see a lot of new insect glaive user,, 90% of them always fly, filling up the air traffic and never stop and combo on ground,, the rest 10% i can say, they are the next generation of a good IG users.
Not sure if intended but I think attacking Kirin from behind to make it kick back hence repositioning for head attack afterward was really smart.
The knockback at 3:54 totally saved his butt from the lighting right after it-.-
Also as an insect glaive main I've end up been using gunlance on this one...
I wish I can even get close to this time with IG...

Is there a reason you saved orange boost for the end? I'm not that familiar with insect glaive
Nathaniel21 Red and white are most important for damage. When they’re about to run out, you can use the orange to reset the timer. Orange isn’t really important unless you’re playing online.
Orange gives you flinch 1 I believe for multiplayer, and when all 3 are up it gives you the maximum damage (but only by a few points that you are better off getting the 2 extracts in speedruns so you don’t waste into downtime)

anyone know whats the combo for IG ?? i just keep spamming triangle :(
Best dps combo for monster openings because you can pull it off is to walk forward and press triangle (thrust), circle, circle. If you want to pull of a bit more you can do the thrust of triangle, triangle again, circle, circle. The second combo is good because those 2 hits are easy to not get animation locked and get hit. For a hit an run, you walk forward while pressing circle and pressing circle again. The last circle attack there in many of the combos is the strongest (circle)

my personal favorite is 2triangle , circle, then tirangle again and then cirlce, position , order insect and again. feel realy fuild my self with this combo. u can also make a junp hit and combo it all togheter.
The combos are simple, they can be chained a million different ways for positioning. Just play ig

Why dont take the Orange insect buff?
Buff time. When you have triple buff, the timer reset. So by getting red+white first and orange later when you're buff about to expire, you can have longer effective time. The difference between power buff of double red and triple buff isn't that much, but you'll get more effective dps
Wait is Kirin very weak to blast because you got it on him a lot.

I haven't played MHW in a while, and I've never seen an Arch Tempered before, but I have slain a Tempered Kirin and an Arch Tempered doesn't seem look or act any different. None of its movements or attacks look faster, or changed up a bit, or mechanically stronger, it just seems to have higher numbers on its stats like damage and health.
That insect glaive is clearly not five foot sixteen inches tall.
Think you can try adding some handicraft, after some analysis you start losing 10% dps due to Sharpness loss mid fight.
He can trade 2 points in agitator with 3 points handicraft, but i don't know it's enough for keeping the white sharpness the entire fight.
It's not lol but its enough to make it a couple seconds faster

HOW?!!? i main the glaive and can never get my buffs to last an entire fight!, when they start flashing, i sent out my kinsect to refresh them just like you, but it always goes away. no matter how many times i send them out and i have to get the buffs all over again. .... also..... how dare you make your monsters sooo tame to be beaten up for the camera! T_T... #Imjellyrightmeow!
If you get all 3 buffs it refreshes all 3 durations and puts you in a state called "triple up" from there you can't refresh until triple up expires. In the video they're only getting Red/White buffs, as long as you aren't in "triple up" you can refresh the individual extracts.
Aertea that explains it. Im so used to getting all 3 for the duration/ dmg buff i read ages ago that said having all 3 was ideal and i just stuck to it. Guess it's time i tried something new now. Lol.

If you really want to even begin fathoming to do this run again, you can switch out the agitator for Peak performance for that extra 10 raw, but you’ll have to run weakness exploit charm and 2 points of crit eye to maintain 100 crit.
Tbh I love your build because you can actually fight Vaal Hazi and any other cheap ticky Damage monsters, only problem is that Crit Boost takes a beating in the gut due to the natural low raw of the weapon and the large increase attack up from peak performance is pretty much an exponential increase. So when you see that you were doing 30 points of more damage, you never want to go for less- for me atleast
I do want to improve this time, actually; however, I would probably sacrifice damage for more points in handicraft. It makes damage somewhat weaker, but dramatically increases output in the later portion of the fight. I didn't have too much luck with Peak Performance against Kirin because of how much damage small headbutts and such dealt - I actually started off using Peak Performance, but swapped over to Agitator because of it.
The headbutts can be RNG to be honest, and in this one is the most I’ve ever seen headbutts that I would’ve thrown my controller across the room due to how quick and high damaging it is. Also, if I recall correctly: smokebombs/Spore puffs aren’t banned in TA, so you can pop one of those and sharpen your weapon to maintain that 10% Damage increase. I’ll have to check TA rules to see if they banned blinking if smoke bombs are banned
As I was looking, it seems they banned all bombs, but smoke bomb would most likely be different in the Japanese version that it is lost in translation, because they also specifically stated that poison smoke bombs are banned, so I guess it wouldn’t be okay to use them Incase most people nit pick :/
ZebraQuake ACTUALLY scratch all of that: “Use of vitalilies, sporepuffs, wiggly litchi are allowed.” So yes you can use smokebombs/sporepuffs so that you can sharpen your weapon!
The best way to use the insect glave is to not use it as an insect glave... that’s fucking sad.

Kim Celina Sta Ana if you beat the game and get far enough and beat some tempered monsters you get to further advance your weapons and armor it's called augmenting. It allows you to add healing as well as other changes to your weapon by using rare stones farmed by high level tempered monsters. The game will tell you when you get to that point of finding those monsters. If your just starting have fun! You have a LONG way to go!

I like the video eventhough I don't like to what they way you play IG have become. You are supposed to jump around while attacking and do a lot of air attacks but these combos are the most effitient ones so yeah

He didn't need health Aug. He mastered the monster. Back in the day we use to punish matters by making them hunt jho with no armour lol. I use duals fighting with no augs rarely kart when I do.
