My mom's dog eats carrots. The berries might be a way for the wolves to get a bit of vitamins. I do often cook blueberries in with my venison. We do hang our deer and I kosher the meat by salt and rinse, but the berries add color and a bit of sweet, to round the excellent, more robust flavor of deer, especially an older doe or an old buck. The roasting the meat looks like it made the hunter's stew very tasty, and I've seen recipes that use leftover meat for stew, and then, the leftover stew becomes a dinner pie.

I should show this video to my dad. :D He and my mum lives in a part of Germany (Lower Saxony near Bremerhaven) where some wolves were spotted a few years ago. Nobody is sure if they stayed or not and I would bet my ass on it some weirdo hunter already shot them (which is not allowed yet). A lot of people are going crazy about the wolves. You can see posters right next to meadows made by the local farmers who try to explain how dangerous the wolves are! The people say they won't let they're kids play outside in the woods and even my father always warns me when I just want to have a nice walk outside near or in the woods. I'm 45 years now and I know how to act if (!) I would ever spot a wolf! The people are totally crazy about the wolves!

Really interesting concept, although it doesn't quiiite match the description of "can you survive on a wolf's diet". But what I really really appreciate is that you went over a few hateful clichés people still think are true about wolves in Germany and explained how incorrect they are.

The meat selection is great!!! In Aisa, people do not remove the bone so the dish is filled with richer flavour.

People are hating on this, but like did you really expect a full on scientific research piece? Its infotainment, and damn good at that.

Ooh, I'm so envious of you for getting to spend time with those wolves! 😻
And the section starting around 15:02 reminded me of the "What Am I Saying?" sketch by The State. "fruits and bears… fruits and bears…" 😆

Back in 1999 I lived on the border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire on a blueberry farm. We owned 12 Alaskan Malamute dogs that were kept outside in very large runs. One day while feeding them, I looked across the field, about 1/2 mile and saw a gorgeous huge grey & white wild wolf. He didn't even look my way. He was so interested in eating the blueberries! I watched him put his muzzle down to "pick" a few blueberries, then he would lift his head to chew them. I watched him for over a half hour. The dogs knew the wolf was there and were agitated, but the lone wolf couldn't have cared less about the 12 huge dogs!

    No, you didnt.
You should eat organs and raw. Boiling a stew from meat is not what wolf would eat.
Thanks for the information value of the video. It was interesting :)
