Ricky mate, just a slight suggestion here... Do you think it's a good idea to place a small animation on the side of the screen while the owners are telling the numbers, just to make it more clear.. BHP /Torque / Weight / Engine Spec.... like a annotation for like 10sec.

@@Soulvex I agree with you pal. A mate has a vectra v6 cdti and it sounds lovely (it's completely stock BTW) and I have a E46 330d touring which I think is the best sounding diesel around! 6 cylinders for the win 👍 lol!
@@alexcoupe. have you raced him? i raced a 330d in my cdti v6 vec and was slowly pulling away (mine has a mild eco map 244bhp).
If you straight pipe a v6 cdti they sound very similar to a nissan gtr.
Also have a listen to a Volvo 2.4 D5 5-cylinder with a straight through, :)
You have to hand it to you Ricky you are putting up some great content. High end German to sleeper vans and everything in between. One of my fave channels without doubt. 👍

Think this is the first diesel I've seen on the channel, and it was a van! Beast
I had a 2008 1.9 8v astravan for three years with a DTUK tuning box on it. Stock was 120 and with the box it was 170. I done roughly 60,000 miles with the box on and had absolutely no issues at all 👍🏻
maybe, but to me a real ECU remap makes more sense

Looks class, such a nice looking van! Used to have a stage 3 Astra H VXR, loved it at the time. Really raw and a rear handful to drive. Very underrated cars. Got a Golf R now and it feels faster but maybe too easy to drive.
Guessing from Jim's facial expressions, he hasn't been in the passenger seat before :D
You gota remember guys, jim is looking over not only because he’s now a passenger, and is a little scared, but he needs to watch the EGT as that’s a very serious thing for highly tuned diesels, say bye bye to the engine if it goes too high like what happens to his manifold. Good to see some Diesels :)

I had a vectra 1.9 cdti 16v which I put a straight through and de cat on. A DTUK tuning box and bigger front mount intercooler on. I don't know what the figures were but it went like stink.

Nice, my car astra 1.9cdti was Pushing end of 280hp at his top with hybrid turbo, fm ic, injectors and exhaust etc. I did 50.000km with it, even on track! Bilstein kit and Full whiteline bushing, Black powerflex in the axle in the back. The astra station is so underrated car
Great video and superb content again Ricky. The clever thing about this is that there are plenty of second hand Vauxhall 1.9TDi engines lying around in scrap yards all over the place, and if this engine blows up (which it probably won't anyway) its cheap as chips to replace. Genius. Cheers, Jon.

Slaven Maric the 1.9 was before the emmisions fixing and you act like VW was spraying diseases out the tail pipe, they were just not reaching the standards of the time if it were ten years previous they would have easily passed emmisions standards
Same with the 1.9 JTDM engine, that can pull 300hp stock.

My Astra H 1.9 has deleted swift flap and EGR and DPF remap put ECU 200BHP normal transmission that it was 1year over no problem
Every once year new oil for transmission I do load driver in motorway
I had the Astra H 888 T9 1.9 CDTI, similar set up, hybrid turbo, fmic, ARBs uprated, willwood 4 pots, coilovers etc etc. Mine had less power though, 170/230 bhp dual map activated on the sport button. Had it 8 years. Sold it to buy a 435d last year, BMW is great, especially now on some better springs and map, but massively miss the Astra!
The noise in the back is the amount of boost passing out the exhaust 😂 mine does it too. Sounds good inside. Sick van thou

The Astravan finally ended production in 2012/2013 time. It was the last estate/station wagon-based van on the UK market for over 20 years after the estate-based version of the Ford Escort van ended production in 1990.
Petrols are quick but the torque that diesal engins produce iss next level! definitely upload more big power diesals 💯💯💥🚀
