- Listen to the moment Elon Musk turned the tables during his interview with BBC technology correspondent James Clayton over Twitter hate content.
The Twitter CEO spoke to the BBC in a wide-ranging interview, during which Mr Clayton said he had seen a rise in "hateful content" on the platform.
Frustrated by the lack of evidence to support the claim, Mr Musk told the BBC reporter that "you don't know what you're talking about".
Some studies suggest that hate speech has risen under Mr Musk's stewardship, including one led by the Center for Countering Digital Hate.

Where Musk asks the reporter about the bbc misinformation regarding Covid, and if they take responsibility for not covering risks associated with masking and c vaccines. That is the critical issue that is still being willfully ignored by most media.

1) The statistical likelihood of having a 1 on 1 chat with Musk is very, very low. How did this man land the interview? 2) I like how he tells Musk: "Let's move on. We only have a certain amount of time." Musk could have said, "No. You're interviewing me. Let's stay on this topic longer."
I was asking myself the same question, it's hard to get him on an interview and to come utterly unprepared.

Musk is Correct that the BBC is funded by the Gov. The 'Licence Fee' is the BBC Tax on the British People who pay an amount dictated by the Gov not voluntarily but Under Threat, under Duress of our homes being invaded by the Police, imprisonment or fine. The BBC used to run ads that had a Detector Van parked outside homes & a sinister voiceover stating "They're watching..." whatever as if the family were engaged in Criminal activity when in fact they were just watching TV without paying the BBC Tax. It is absurd that the BBC still call the Tax the "Licence Fee", an archaic term from the early days when the BBC Dominated Broadcasting. Why would anyone need a Licence to watch TV which requites no skill or qualifications or training. It is not a Licence, it is a Tax Declaration Form proving you have paid the Tax. EDIT James Clayton is the "BBC's North American Technology Reporter" which is probably why most folks have never heard of him. They have now. Pity Eddie Mair didn't do the interview. EDIT.

I do so hate those insincere "let's move on as I don't think this is getting us anywhere" type comments. Sounds diplomatic, but it often suits one party at the expense of another - so is actually a long way from what it seems.
The same sentiment can be expressed without being so dictatorial - e.g. "I believe it'd be sensible to move on, how do you feel about that?"
If Mr Clayton were accused of (for instance) supporting extremism, but no example was given - and when he asked for one, heard the same phrases he uttered here, I'm sure he'd be uncomfortable moving on until those accusations were substantiated and/or revoked 🤨

The reporter has been in the echo chamber for so long he truly expected Elon to just agree with what the reporter assumed was accepted truth, that “hate speech” was way up on Twitter. Was there ever any actual proof of that claim? Doesn’t matter, it was repeated so many times it became true.
He was so flustered because he had never actually been challenged on that claim inside the echo chamber.
He said he was personally feeling that the content on twitter has become hostile after Elon took over and can't make a single example while question the policy of the company not allowing hate speech. Practically saying that Elon should allow hate speech since it would make it easier for him to use Twitter.
Interviewer was unprepared for sure but using this as an example of anything is silly. It's like asking "what were you doing last month on the 9th at 835am" and expecting someone to immediately remember.
What the interviewer should do here is just say "I can't remember off the top of my head, we'll get back"

Elon is used to stripping away the BS to get at the meat of highly technical conversations. Why this BBS reporter didn't think he'd apply the same first principles logic to an interviewer who makes unsubstantiated claims is beyond me.

Some journalists are excellent. Some fall in love with creating a narrative that supports how they imagine the world to be. Often this isn't a problem because there is a shadow industry of pundits and "experts" who will put forth paper thin evidence to support any narrative that someone with a platform and advertising revenue needs supported. Usually, this works well because most NPCs don't question what they hear and if they are pressed, the journalist can skip to commercial, cut the segment, or just say, "let's move on."
