    I brought home 2 AXE 16000 yesterday to upgrade from my AX11000. They will be in a mesh setup for my home with 10Gbe backhaul. I had an electrician wire my whole house with multiple CAT8 Cables and I purchased a bunch of 10Gbe switches. I specifically bought these routers for the 10Gbe ports. My internet provider has already marked the lawn outside my house for fibre optic cable installation. They have 8Gbe speed available when it's all done and the AXE16000 can be setup to have one of the 10gbe ports as an input for the ISP.

    question. I have an ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 & 2 ROG Rapture GT6s. I have a large area to cover. I was told by ASUS Tech support before I bought them that they will work together. Well I was given the AXE16000 but I bought the 2 GT6s for the extended space. I told them I planned on using the AXE16000 as my main router and the 2 ROG GT6s as 2 nodes or what ever you want to call them. They told me they will work. Today when I called tech support they told me you cannot use them this way. Both devices under their specs say AiMesh capable.
    Are you familiar with these? If so do you know if they will work like I am hoping they will? If they do where do you recommend I go for quality support to get help setting them up. ASUS customer tech support is terrible. I read my serial number to the guy 10 times and I swear they were just not listening.
    Also for your info. I plan to have my AXE16000 connected to my ISP modem. My ISP does not have a built in router/wifi. So I will not need to put anything on their equipment in bridge mode. So the AXE16000 will be my router and I will have the 2 GT6s spread out far away on other side of building. My AXE16000 is next to and connected to a 16 port gigabit switch. I have Ethernet ran in the walls all the way out to where both GT6s are located. So the internet will be supplied from my AXE16000 through Cat6 to my GT6s so they will not be receiving WiFi signal from AXE16000 to the GT6s but instead they will be directly connected via Ethernet.
    I am hoping I can have the 2 GT6s receive wired internet and then broadcast WiFi from there to devices on that side of building.
    Will this work and how do I go about doing this?
    Thanks for your help in advance.

    Have you considered using MoCa devices to get a wired connection throughout your home? If you ever do that would be a cool video to see.

      MoCa devices would be so cool. I tried to use some cables that was in the walls previous but turned out they were terminated/cut somewhere and I could not find the fault. I love the idea of them and there speed is so good.

      @@EclipseReviews For sure you would’ve really enjoyed using MoCA. Have you attempted to use Wiregaurd through the Merlin Firmware? It is totally different than using it through the stock firmware. I couldn’t get it to work but that might be a cool video to see. I think to use it through Merlin the ssh feature must be used then download entware etc through the menu.and then install wireguard from there.

      @@EclipseReviewsThank you for the videos. Question. I have a ROG GT AXE16000 and I have 2 of the ROG - GT6 devices. Am I able to use the AXE16000 as my main router and use the 2 - ROG-GT6s as nodes or satellites for a mesh network?
      If you say yes do you have any videos that show how to set them up?
      Lastly is there a better configuration of devices that work well together than these 2 products I say I have. If so please let me know. Maybe there is a better device that can be used as nodes with the AXE16000

    hi I have just received this along with an 8gb fibre connection. using the built in speed test within the asus software here its only showing 4.6gb and when i do a speed test on my razer blade connected wirelessly to this router i only get 1.6gb down. would this suggest theres something wrong?

    I have the axe11000, on the firmware it came with the speeds were 800+, after updating it the speed dropped to 400, then i switched to merlin and now im at 300, should i just rollback the software?

      Did you reboot the router after installing Merlin? Very important to do that.

    • @EclipseReviews
      @EclipseReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can just go to Asus website and download the original firmware or even the older version which worked for you and upload this to the router. : rog.asus.com/networking/rog-rapture-gt-axe16000-model/helpdesk_bios/

      @@EclipseReviewsThanks for your videos. question. I have a 2 Story townhome. It’s about 30 ft wide and 42 ft long front to back. The square feet of the home is 1850 and the 2 car garage take up the front lower half mostly except the foyer sits on the side of that to front door. My internet low voltage panel is in the upstairs back corner of the home and my entry door is on the lower level opposite corner on the front at least 45-50 ft away. Will this router be powerful enough to reach from back internet closet upstairs on the back corner to front door for the smart doorbell on the front corner?
      If we did have issues getting signal to the doorbell. We have Ethernet Cat6 jack and coax inside the downstairs coat closet at the front door where we could add on an AiMesh product so that its a direct connection to the main router so that the main router does not need to send Wi-Fi signal to the node at the front door. Just gotta figure out how to wire it and set it up properly if we buy this type of system compared to a mesh system like Orbi Pro for example. We do have 2 gaming PC in the home so we are for sure interested in a gaming router like this instead.
      Lastly if we needed an extra AiMesh for a node to get signal at front door. What would you recommend getting from Asus for this add on? Thanks for your time if you are able to respond.

    • @EclipseReviews
      @EclipseReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the slow reply, had covid so knocked me out for a while. It's a hard choice, as I liked the extra range from the ET12 and the speed. But as I have upgraded my home network to 10Gb the AXE16000 is my personal choice. But if I did not have a 10Gb ethernet setup, then the ET12 would be my preferred option as has the WiFi speed / 2.5Gb ports and range.
