I fall into this category...I love gourmand elements but don't want to smell like dessert. 😄 So not so odd that I own (or want to own) most of these. 🙂 I'm so glad you mentioned Cafe Chantant. I have the extrait and it really is an amazing fragrance. OMG, I loooove Gardez. I bought it last week and have been wearing it ever since. Great Category!! This is soo me!! I’m new to this category!! So for me right now? I like a whipped cream base…now I’m an opium poison alien fusion gal!! Ha but when I smelled cloud for ex I couldn’t smell it!! Then I finally did! And I fell in love with the airy quality then same for Pistachio Latte!! Drool! And I realized it was the whipped cream! So now I’m trying to find a vanilla that’s NOT spicy as that’s whole collection! Ha a gateway vanilla gourmand!
Wanting to try Frassai! I have Blondine and Victoria on my list. Also still wanting to get my nose on Cuir Beluga so maybe the recommendation here will be a good stepping stone? Hmmmm. Thanks again for the recommendations!
Ohh I think both Bianca Latte will be next fall! And Celeste very soon!!! I’m currently waiting for This Is Her! ( as long as it’s in stock from Jomashop!😢)
The Ylang in Gold fragrance is one of my favorites, but I hate the gold flecks. I have to be so careful where I spray it. I may need to look into your alternative. It’s a shame about the flecks, because I’d reach for this so much more without them. Beautiful perfume.
I only have Sunshine, I‘m still trying to warm up to vanilla and iris, they are not my fav note so I‘m still trying to like my decant of Ylang in gold.
@@ThePerfumeNest I love Levitating by Floraiku, though that is not going too much into gourmand, though it has vanilla as well (but orange is more prominent in this). I started enjoying Note Vanillee recently. My favourites are Gris Charnel, Soie Malaquais, Angelique Noire, Poirier d‘un Soir, Nuda Veritas, Pomelo Riviera, Blanc Polychrome from Atelier Des Ors. I also enjoyed Rock the Myrrh, so it’s on my to-buy list for next winter. Of course my taste changes as the weather changes. I do tend to reach to fragrances less sweet, but I just blind bought Bali Ha‘i for summer and waiting for delivery, it should go into gourmand direction, so I hope I‘ll like it. I also signed up to monthly deliveries of 8ml probes, and will test the next months some Simone Andreoli fragrances, they also tend to be sweeter, so I might give an update the next couple of months how my exploration went. The more fragrances I test, the harder it gets for a fragrance to impress me :).
Good morning, Chris. Well, I live in the heat and humidity of Houston. I like a few gourmand in the AC, but we never make it outside. I'm tempted to test a couple. 😂😅
I live in dry dusty hot west Texas. I have trouble with overly sweet sticky gourmands. When you described Kulfi and Gardez you talked about dry notes. Don’t want typical sweet citrus/floral summer scents for the next 8 months of unbearable, take-your-breath-away temps. Do you think these 2 especially would perform well in my climate?? Thanks for all you do
Gardez certainly. There are a few ppl here in the comments that bought Gardez and love it. One person here thought even Kulfi was too sweet for them. I do love freshies in the warm weather. I’m from Houston originally.
Kulfi L'Aromatica Perfume sounds so amazing. Cardamon and sandalwood, such a great combo. Only thing, it doesn't seem to be available in Europe. Good thing, I have another cardamon and sandalwood perfume, called Trayee, which is fantastic, so I may not need Kulfi.
Well hello, my amazingly beautiful friend Chris. I love to smell like food, but these will be good introductions for me for fragrances that AREN'T gourmand. Win/win!
Hi Chris, I’m in the opposite direction. Vanilla, chocolate, whipped cream and caramel are a good alternative for me for florals or fruit. Still watching :)
You compared Casmir by Chopard to Ylang in Gold. I've seen Casmir compated to the discontinued Givenchy Organza Indécence. Going in a different direction, do you have a suggestion for that smooth, dry, sensual spice of Organza Indécence that had a touch of dry vanilla and rosewood? Casmir is a distant cousin, not the sister to Indécence that i was hoping for.
Heyy Chris, thank you for this! I've sampled Blondine and so ready to press go 😍 but I'm struggling a little bit with the longevity beyond a a couple of hours or so, but that could be because I'm spraying from a small decant. What has your experience been with this fragrance? Xx
But how it wears on you is a good indication of performance so if you aren’t happy with it….walk on by. I have to be careful not to overspray because the lily, leather combo can get very strong very fast. And I tend to wear in warmer months.
@@ThePerfumeNest hey again, yeah gosh I suppose you could be right there, good point! 🤔 I love the scent so I may go for it anyway and let it sit for a bit. If I notice any any difference after spraying more from the bottle too then I'll let you know 👍 Thanks so much again for your input 🙏🌟😘 xx
@@ThePerfumeNest yeah, it's true I shouldn't try to talk myself into a purchase no matter how much I love a particular scent. My skin tends to eat up fragrance too, so that doesn't help matters! It's so darn hard to test with these little decants (they aren't cheap either) as I'd usually spray on clothes and hair to create a little scent bubble. I'll definitely give it some thought before taking the plunge, just wish I wasn't so enamoured by it!! 🥰😂🤣😆 Thanks again Chris xx
Can you help me to find a good alternative to Bal d‘afrique? I thought there was a green bottle which Chris promoted… does anyone know which one I mean 😅??
@@ThePerfumeNest oh 🫣 that is not the one I mean.. it is a vibrant green bottle which looks like the Byredo bottle with a white cap. Do you know which one I‘m thinking of? Thanks for your help and greetings from Germany 🙋🏼♀️
Sure! From Melinda Maria. The one I’m wearing is the Carrie chain. I also have it in Samantha (links are a little smaller). Her jewelry is amazing and probably my favorite line. Doesn’t tarnish.
Oh thanks! It’s a bodysuit I saw Tati wear in a recent video. It’s from Amazon! I never buy clothes from Amazon but I love it (came in a two pack). Let me look up the brand.
😂😂I think you might love Sissa! That is my current Mind Games obsession. Look…can you take leather? If so…you might find Gardez interesting. I’ll send you a decent. I got your box this eeek but haven’t had a chance to get through it!!!
@@ThePerfumeNest I can do without leather..that is what stopped me. Yes, I like Sissa and also Queening and have a sample of French Defense on the way!
Thanks for sharing!!! That will help others. I oftentimes add some vanilla to make it more edible and when I don’t feel like smelling like a snack I wear alone. ❤️

Gourmand scents have their place, they are good for therapeutic purposes when you are at home but in my opinion a grown up person shouldn’t smell like food. It is juvenile. I like sweeter fragrances without smelling like straight up cake.
This is on point for me. I have been cooking and baking since I was a teen. Not really into gourmand fragrance. Don't like coconut, rice, nor too much vanilla. Not into milky cookie fragrances. I love fruity floral woody, amber, musky fragrances. I do like ginger and coffee notes. Thanks again

Oh I love a whipped cream base!!!!
Thank you Chris. Yes, it's good to give non gourmonds some love ❤️.
You are so welcome😂 and yes I agree!!! ❤️❤️
Wanting to try Frassai! I have Blondine and Victoria on my list. Also still wanting to get my nose on Cuir Beluga so maybe the recommendation here will be a good stepping stone? Hmmmm. Thanks again for the recommendations!
Yes!!! Cafe Chantant is a cheaper alternative also . ❤️
Great vid Chris!
Thank you!!🙏🏻
Lost Alice actually was my intro gourmand sample, on fb list!
Oh cool! 🙌❤️❤️❤️❤️
great fragrances in todays video Chris.
Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️
lol I placed an order a few days ago for Celeste and cafe chantant 😂 ❤
Oh!! Had you sampled them first?
@@ThePerfumeNest yes and I love both ❤️
Ohh I think both Bianca Latte will be next fall! And Celeste very soon!!! I’m currently waiting for This Is Her! ( as long as it’s in stock from Jomashop!😢)
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can't wait for the non-gourmand vanilla video! ❤
Coming soon! Yay!!!🙏🏻❤️
Just curious…what is your fav non gourmand vanilla?
Royal Crown Sultan@@ThePerfumeNest
Okay I need to get my nose on Kulfi. Love the idea of a cardamom bomb with a little bit of custard and vanilla.
Oh it’s SO delicious! I’ve worn it three times this week
Hello my beautiful Chris! Mmmm… not convinced yet🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂Baby steps!!!
The Ylang in Gold fragrance is one of my favorites, but I hate the gold flecks. I have to be so careful where I spray it. I may need to look into your alternative. It’s a shame about the flecks, because I’d reach for this so much more without them. Beautiful perfume.
Aw. See I’m the opposite! I love them! But I can see how it might not be for everyone…❤️❤️
I only have Sunshine, I‘m still trying to warm up to vanilla and iris, they are not my fav note so I‘m still trying to like my decant of Ylang in gold.
🥰🥰What are a few of your favorite perfumes??
And BLONDINE by Frassaï is really to die for: artistic and pleasant niche 😊
Yes right??!!!! I agree completely!!💯❤️❤️
Hi Chris ❤️❤️❤️ Baby gourmands?! I’ll take any kind of gourmands 🤩
🤣Same!!
Good morning, Chris. Well, I live in the heat and humidity of Houston. I like a few gourmand in the AC, but we never make it outside. I'm tempted to test a couple. 😂😅
Hey did you know I’m from Houston??!!
No, I didn't . I heard you say something about visiting your family here. Well, you know first hand about the summer months. 😉
@@erika71classic yep! I sure do! I lived there most of my life. ❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest Did you attend high school here?
@@erika71classic I did! Clear Lake. ❤️
I love Lost Alice. 🥰
Yay!! Right?!🙌❤️❤️
I live in dry dusty hot west Texas.
@@ThePerfumeNest lived in Houston 5 in Galveston for almost 20 yrs.
Oh I think I’ve heard of that!! Who makes it?
It's by Neela Vermeire Creations, Bertrand Duchaufour is the perfumer.
Well hello, my amazingly beautiful friend Chris. I love to smell like food, but these will be good introductions for me for fragrances that AREN'T gourmand. Win/win!
I do also!! You know that!!❤️
I’d like to know your thoughts on Zara perfumes for a future video suggestion.
There are soooo many. ❤️❤️
Hi Chris, I’m in the opposite direction. Vanilla, chocolate, whipped cream and caramel are a good alternative for me for florals or fruit. Still watching :)
Thank you! I like it all!!! 😂
Yes!! eo01 by Biehl Parfumkunstwerke is the closet to Indecence. I agree….Casmir is not that close.
Sunshine just doesn’t show up on me.. waiting for it to get warmer, hopefully it’ll bloom in the warmth!
Yea it’s not the typical Amouage powerhouse
Heyy Chris, thank you for this! I've sampled Blondine and so ready to press go 😍 but I'm struggling a little bit with the longevity beyond a a couple of hours or so, but that could be because I'm spraying from a small decant. What has your experience been with this fragrance? Xx
Hmm. Well my bottle is at least 3-4 years old. I’ve never had an issue with longevity. 😬 Maybe your sample is from a newer/reformulation?? 😯
Can you do a video on non gourmand non vanilla fragrances??
You mean straight up florals? Or woods? Or freshies?
Can you help me to find a good alternative to Bal d‘afrique? I thought there was a green bottle which Chris promoted… does anyone know which one I mean 😅??
Sure! It’s called Al Rayhan by Attar collection…
@@ThePerfumeNest oh 🫣 that is not the one I mean.. it is a vibrant green bottle which looks like the Byredo bottle with a white cap. Do you know which one I‘m thinking of? Thanks for your help and greetings from Germany 🙋🏼♀️
Oh then I’m not familiar. Tocca makes one that smells similar (Collette?). But it’s very light
@@ThePerfumeNest I found it!!! It was vibrant Vetiver delight from Emir 💚 but I think I will order your first suggestion! Thanx 🫶🏼
Hi Chris! Where is your necklace from please? :)
Sure! From Melinda Maria. The one I’m wearing is the Carrie chain. I also have it in Samantha (links are a little smaller). Her jewelry is amazing and probably my favorite line. Doesn’t tarnish.
@@ThePerfumeNest thank you so much!
Where did you get that shirt? I need one!
Oh thanks! It’s a bodysuit I saw Tati wear in a recent video. It’s from Amazon! I never buy clothes from Amazon but I love it (came in a two pack). Let me look up the brand.
Oh thanks, let me know or list the link, thanks
I was ordering some Mind Games samples and when I came across Gardez I paused, contemplated for a second and imagined you saying “you won’t like it”😂😂
😂😂I think you might love Sissa!
Kulfi is a very interesting fragrance. I like it, but it's a bit too foody for me
Thanks for sharing!!! That will help others. I oftentimes add some vanilla to make it more edible and when I don’t feel like smelling like a snack I wear alone. ❤️
Me! Me! I'm one of your cardamom lovers! I love Kulfi for a LOT of reasons. :) It really is a nice, spicy fragrance for a lazy Saturday morning. Mmmmm! xoxoxo Thank you!
I know! I always think of you when I wear Kulfi. ❤️❤️
I can’t abide gourmand fragrances. Give me rose and florals all day!
I love those also! Oh ! Rose video coming up this week! (I filmed it three weeks ago). 🌹
💞
❤️❤️❤️
Finally I am not a vanilla stan. Just a floral girly here.
Floral girly is great also!!
Hi there! Thx for stopping by!!
Ohh I dooo love that category 🥰🥰 (most of my coworkers hate Vanilla so I have to get inventive so I can still wear my perfumes 😅😂)
Have a wonderful Sunday Chris 🤗🤗💞!!
Oh no! Coworkers who hate vanilla. Oh that is brutal!!!😂
Ahahahahah 😂 I sneak them in from time to time just to make sure!!
Yay!!😂
☝️Celeste sounds like I have to get my nose on 🥰
Yes!! It’s pretty easy to get your hands on a sample!
