One of the best videos I've seen! Some folks can complete B1/B2 courses without knowing how to describe simple actions like these. Now I know that I'm actually using 'lose' Tee to 'ziehen' it, and 'stelle' a saucer hin to put a teaspoon on :) Come to think of it, I didn't even know I 'nehme meine Tasse am Henkel'! :)
Thank you so much! And yes, I see that all the time with students who book lessons with me. Most of them already have certificates but feel like imposters because they can't actually speak. The courses that prepare you for those tests don't really help you to learn the language. They mainly just help you to pass the tests. I would only recommend taking a course like that if you need a certificate for some sort of visa or citizenship. Learning a language takes time and repetition and those short and densely packed courses just can't provide that 😕 But that's why I make these videos! I'm glad they are helping you 😊
@@Comprehensible_German I can't agree more. I'd say some basic knowledge of German is needed to understand any 'comprehensible input' videos (some grammar, vocab, etc.) unless you plan to watch dozens and hundreds of such videos over and over to learn by 'osmosis' like a child :) Anyways, your channel is a real discovery! Pls keep up the good work!
Thank you. This is what I need. I have learned German for several years and learned alot about grammar and forgotten a lot too😂 but its really hard to compose a sentence and use correct words to express something. My teacher have to corrected my sentence most of the time. But she passed away 😢 years ago. She was a German and she was nice and treated me as friend instead of merely student. By watching comprehendible input videos like this I can improve my Getman language sense and also enrich my vocabulary eapecially things which we need to use a lot in daily life but not often see in textbook especially in level such as b2 or even higher.
I'm very sorry to read about your teacher 😔 but it's nice to know that you still keep on learning German 😊 and I'm happy to know I can help you and others on your way to fluency 😊
Hahaha yes! ß can look crazy! I just looked up the part of the video that has “außen” and it looks similar to how you would write it in cursive. Luckily ß isn't used that much anymore. In many words, it was already replaced with ss, e.g. “der Kuß” was changed to “der Kuss” (the kiss)
@@Comprehensible_German I had always just thought of it as "the thing that looks like a Beta", and didn't realize before now that it's a ligature of the old "long s" and "short s" characters. Thank you so much for these videos, they're great!

Love it, but the thing that blew me away was seeing the formation of the ß in that typeface 🤯

Vids are useful, but you speak much too quietly and gently.
