A really nice video if Air Force One Matt, and to get both the VC25 departing one after the other from a great vantage point is excellent. It is always a spectacle to see AF1 and all the aircraft and arrivals around it and it remains a great looking aircraft.
Awesome!.. I once saw AF-1 parked on the tarmac/hangar area at Portland International (PDX) back in the late 90's as we drove by on our way to catch a plane to Reno. It was amazing seeing that huge thing up so close..
it's a 747. there are thousands of them. It probably wan't the only 747 at PDX. if you haven't flown on one it's not too late. Find an excuse. It's an amazing aircraft.
Matt my good friend, great video, caught them both. You don't see them , but there are several fighter jets already in the air waiting to escort them to their next destination. Trust me.
Swiss Air Force was definitely active. It was really great to see both VC-25. They have already 30 years on the hump but still look perfectly like brand new.
Jetzt weiss ich wer in meiner Lieblingsecke stand ;) naja, war halt spät dran, Prüfungszeit and der FH.. Super Aufnahmen. Allein schon die erste Szene stein echter Leckerbissen.
anyone know why SAM 29000 has two bumps on the spine and SAM 28000 has three ? I know those are usually for secured communications, but I thought the point of both flying together was a bad actor couldn't know for certain which one the President was on?
‘Air Force One’ isn’t an aircraft. It is simply the callsign used to distinguish the plane that the US President is flying on. If the President is flying in a helicopter, the callsign will be ‘Marine One.’ Both VC-25s (modified 747-200s) are used to transport the current President of the USA.
Amazing footage Matt! Two powerful beasts, 1 video!
Thank you! :)

Hundreds of people stood in the way, so I could not record the whole take-off.
excellent catch
Thank you!
This is the top of all planespotters' career.
Thank you!
Great catch! Did you travel to Zurich specifically to plane-spot the Davos attendees?
Thank you George! Yes, I did but especially to spot Air Force One. It was amazing to see both Jumbo Jets.
Never in my life did I think that both AF1s would be together.
That was a great surprise!
This is awesome Matt!!

Very interesting video👍

Super Mathias!
Danke!!
They’re like brothers
Thank you very much! It was super cool to see those two Jumbo Jets!!
Are they still intending on upgrading AF1 to a 747-8 ? Or are they just going to stick with the current?
The AF1 B747-8 should be mission-ready by 2024. So these two gorgeous jumbo jets will still remain in service for the next couple of years.
This might be the last known sighting of AF2 29000
Yes, I know. That is why I travelled to Zurich :)
