So did I from far away South Africa. I have been following up the Liberian TRC hearings and found them very profound. Mr Chea Cheapo has been one of the most honest contributors to the TRC. I hope and pray for a strong and united Liberia where peace will reign for ever. Work together to build a strong economy which will cater for future generations. I thank you.

"that old African way of inflicting sorrow on your fellow man"...that statement was deep on so many levels. May God guide us to do better by one another so we can build a prosperous future.

President Tolbert's government helped many " country people "! I am one of the beneficiaries; I attended BWI and graduated as a Machinist and Structural welder. President Tolbert was really a PROGRESSIVE man.

Like him or hate him, he was fearless and was notorious for 'spontaneous justice', which scared his superiors. I remembered as a kid how he exposed Judges and court officials (Ester Bailey and Judge Harper taking bribes) and disgraced them live of television. He was a no-nonsense arbiter of justice and I got to personally meet him as a 4 year old kid. Today, the office of the justice ministry is a joke; wanton corruption and cronyism are order of the day and no indictments are issued for such gross violations. Cabals of gangsters masquerading as appointed and elected officials have stolen from the coffers of the state yet rewarded by cronies in the upper echelon of government. When can we have the rightful institution of justice back in proper order instead of the state of affairs of current moot process?

In one breath he claims that as Justice Minister he restored Law and Order few days after the coup. In another breath, he claims that he had no relationship nor control over the army....His foster dad( Chesson) the then Justice Minister, constantly reminded him that he would not be freed from prison. Doe then appointed him as Justice Minister...directly succeeding his father. It's not a coincidence that his foster dad was disgracefully executed by the military junta. I believe Cheapo is complicit in his dad's execution.

That's correct, those that gave such orders were not there in the "institutions" or " "prisions "to enforce " such" orders. The burden then lies on those that carried out "such" orders.

But Oldman, your actions helped caused the 1979 rice riot and the 1980 coup. There was no cause for the riot. Tolbert was only suggesting to give liberian farmer the desire to grow more rice. Suggested price increase was from 15 to 18 dls for a 100 pd bag.

The unknown soldier was the leader of the coup. Not samuel doe. Doe was not in the building. He was in the yard. Being he was the highest nco among them, a master sergeant, he was made leader. The coup leader the sss discover was a 1/lt of the kru tribe. He died from injuries in exchange of fire with a sss officer named zobon. Zonbon was a gola man who also died in the fire exchange. Doe did not even see tolbert alive before he was killed. Soldiers assigned at the mansion and living on the grounds were mainly involved. Soldiers like larry borteh, fallah Varney.

The ndpl party was just like the old true whig party, but worse from what I saw. Remember when interviewed in 1980, doe said he would carry on every policy, domestic and foreign of the old true whig party system and tolbert govt, but it was worst.

Only few of our people that eat and breathe loyalty!! Have no admirations for these fools!!! I think they are opportunists and evil. Given the timing and situation circumstances, they will show no mercy to climb the ladder

What stays in my head to this day is after the people were executed, and there were many idegenous cabnet ministers, directors, senators and representives but none of them were touched, soldiers went that evening and urinated in their open mouths, their ears and their faces and naked body while while soldiers and civilians men and women clapped and cheered" native woman borned soldier, congo woman borned dog. Native woman borned soldier, congo woman borned rogues. Then the rape of wives and daughters as young as 11 years in front of their husbands and sons and brothers and many were killed after the rapes. One congo man who never work for government wife and two daughters, 13 and 15 yrs old were raped over and over by soldiers. Each time their 9 year old son and the father was tied and beaten before the rape by 5 soldiers. It happen twice. The husband had stroke and died and the mother committed suicide. The soldiers uded to laugh and joke about it. That's what you help make happen mr chepoo. And you are a liar, the who nation saw you interrogating and condemning your step father on national tv.
