This album requires a real good listen in the sense that you need to give it your full attention to absorb all the complexities and minor changes that occur throughout the entirety of the record. If you have the chance play it on a long night drive in the cold weather somewhere away from the city lights if possible. In doing so I fell in love with the whole thing and save it for special occasions in the winter nights.
Their Country don't receive nearly enough respect IMO even if Drudkh is somewhat popular and mainstream. This album is pure gold and this was before Ukraine was even on the BM map. The first song "Where the Icecold Blood Storms" is as good as any lo-fi atmospheric/pagan brand metal out there. The change in tempo and pace halfway through this track could hold my attention for hours if I let it.
