    Sorry about the racket, it's those darned shimano finned brake pads. Will get it sorted, put on some music and enjoy some good trails 🤙

      Nice creg
      I stretch the retaining spring legs out a fair ways each side on mine and makes it silent
      There’s also the Velcro and rubber band hack, but I’ve never tried it

      @@PiazzaWoodWorks yeah I normally just run the non-finned ones but there are out of stock everywhere. Chocked it up with Velcro today and already seems heaps better

    My Range is near silent. Trick is to get the dropper cable tucked in properly where your shock tunnel is. It should not move at all.
    Next very loud item are the 2 cables just where the top tube and seat tube meet. Put some Velcro tape there where the cable contacts the frame. Third is the left side cable plug at the headtube. The right side is soft rubber but left side is hard plastic. I wrapped the outside of it with black electrical tape and wedged it back in and now the bike is very silent.

    • @MTBMcPhee
      @MTBMcPhee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips! My cables all came with foam shielding which makes them pretty quite but I’ll check those points of the noise persists once I’ve tamed the pad rattle. At the time of recording I thought they were fine because I’d done the mastic tape trick but they still had plenty of play so I’ve given them another layer. Fingers crossed, and I’m glad there’s a silent one out there because Lew Buchanan’s is also noisy as heck 😂

    So sweet to see the range in action!! I’d love to rip my optic there! How’s it pedal? Seems like a lot of bike in those trails, does it feel that way?

    • @MTBMcPhee
      @MTBMcPhee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not as good as the Sight for pedalling but it gets up and goes fine when you need it to. I found it pretty manageable at Bulli and it really ate up the downhill which is rough quite fast. Not sure I'd want to ride my Optic on that track, but it would be fun on the slower tracks.

    Just a tip to keep your fork in the best condition possible, even though you only just got your bike, get a lower leg service in around a month because most fork manufacturers including fox, dont put enough oil in the stock components and they run out really fast (especially kashima).
    Hope this helps, have fun shredding love your videos!

    • @MTBMcPhee
      @MTBMcPhee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much! Good tip and also a good reminder to pull the air spring out and remove the excess grease as they always have a heap of it taking up space in the negative spring 👌
