After he told Steve he isn´t a hero and he runs away from everything, i knew he is going to die.... I think this death was brutal and sad but neccessary, cause he proved himself wrong and he would be a big enemy for the people of hawkins
It wouldn’t have mattered man. It would be almost impossible for him to prove his innocence in the real world so he would have to live in fear on the run. He wanted to prove to himself that he’s not a coward or a bad person like Hawkins painted him out to be. He died an honorable death

Hawkins is still in deep shit. Even if he'd be on the run, he'd be alive. Maybe some day, people would find out what exactly happened to Chrissy and the others.

finally his year man it wasn't even his day, girl dies in front of him blamed for all of the murders then he dies, that line just makes it so ironic. thou on a serious note I've seen across the fandom people misunderstand his death he didn't sacrifice himself due to survivor guilt thou sure that was a part of it if he ran the bats would have followed him through the portal towards dustin he couldn't bring himself to actually be responsible, for one of the few people that actually respected and cared for him, dying

He didn’t really die watch he’ll be back season five they’re going back in time to part of the Montauk project they’re going to save him and Max and Chrissy they’re gonna go into the upside down and basically stop everything that happened in last season to the town that way the murders didn’t happen the earthquake didn’t happened everything because that’s what happened the government covers things up it’s going to be covered up with time travel only people that are going to know about it is the gang of main characters know it will be season five and it’s going to end all on a good note
