Indeed. I used to dislike Hikaru and thought he does not have a pleasant personality but with time I realized I was wrong.

He is a change person now, I really like his chill and relax style more now compared to his older time.

SCC is an actually an overhyped event mainly because of the Hikaru stans thinking it's the most important event and a win there makes Hikaru his rival

He was in poor form. Winning games from worse positions, and blundering wins and draws.
There was not a single day where Hikaru had a good day except for his 2-0 against Lazavic at the end.
I think on some of his videos, he finds he plays better when angry, but it's a fine line.
hardly his arch nemesis, simply other level of player and Hikaru isn't even top 5 of the last decade.
Better example would be Karpov vs Kasparov, now those 2 truly had a rivalry (Karpov would've been the GOAT and 20+ years of #1/champion if it hadn't been for Kasparov).

Currently on a bad day the closest person to Magnus is Fabi in classical, and Hikaru in Blitz.
Magnus peaked a few years back but is just managing his decline, and he is still better than everyone in all time formats.
I can't see Magnus playing for the Classical World Championship, unless Alireza takes the next step and becomes World Champion or Fide changes the format.

the drew it as a protest against fide. dubov drew his later games also. if he didn't do that he would have had a chance.
well in the final game dubov was slightly worse and magnus was slightly better. Both off them would've fought it out if they were on equal points

Nah, Hikaru and Magnus have equal respect for eachother. Hans NIemand however got little publicity in this event, he did play and one of his games was live sent on norwegian tv and he lost to a lesser ranked Norwegian; funny.
