For parents and children:
Central theme: Disease
Ask your children what they think it means to be sick.
Ask them if they know what a disease is (a disease is a sickness that keeps the body from doing what it's normally meant to do).
Tell them that when we are sick, we either need a doctor to help us or we need medicine that will make us feel better.
Then tell them that on Christmas Jesus came because we all suffer from the same disease, and that disease is called sin. Because we are all sin-sick, we cannot do what God created us to do.
Jesus came because he is the only medicine that can cure our sin sickness and make us spiritually healthy. That's something worth celebrating!
Thank you for reading this year's Advent reading
Good job
